Even after a really poor run of results, something like only 2 wins in their last 8 - and despite losing to us on Tuesday, [b]Hartlepool are still a top half side[/b](just).
They even dicked Millwall 3-0 last month. Which was a darn site more impressive than we managed.[/quote]
man alive, you know what I mean!
They're certainly a lot closer to relagation (4pts?) than they are to the play offs (12pts?). Put it this way, I don't anticipate them making a late run for the the promotion spots after that performance. Pony.
According to some of you lot pre season, we were certs to go down, now we're looking like we're going up, you complain that 54 points isn't good enough. Fickle and Spurs like comes to mind
[cite]Posted By: ValleyGary[/cite]Im sorry, i thought the thread was titled 'Charlton v Hartlepool - Post match views'...not 'Season so far views'?
Its ok to be disappointed with a performance and comment on it isnt it?...or do we have to pull each other off after every 3 points?
Different opinions are what make the forum world go round. However that said it is also a valid opinion to set an indifferent winning performance into the context of the season as a whole.
There are some posters who seem to pursue vendettas against certain players and see no right in what they do. Conversely some posters seem to see no wrong in certain players whatever the evidence.
That is of course their perogative but equally it is the perogative of others to express their frustration at such stances providing that it does not become personally abusive.
[cite]Posted By: Oggy Red[/cite]We didn't play a bottom half side.

I certainly take that point, YTS !
Although Hartlepool were 7th in the League only a few weeks ago.
It's only their recent poor run that's seen them drop to mid-table.
Anyway, I expect with a name like Hartlepool, then they should rightfully be bottom of the League.

Lost only 2 away in the league.
54 points from 26 games ffs, nearly any other year we'd be top with that amount of points.
Apparently, often play badly, but only lost twice.
15 points clear of 7th placed team (who have a game in hand) and it's only January 21st.
17 points above Millwall (who have a game in hand)
Cheer up everyone.

Just my opinion :-)
It's ok to admit when we play badly though, anyone who thinks we played well on Tuesday is mad.
I'm more than happy to have a few off days and still pick up the points ;-)
I certainly take that point, YTS !

;o)
Yep, it's puzzling.
;o)
Clear headers from looping corners come to nothing.
Some people may know everything about Charlton but nothing about football.
