  • So this Chris Dickson, is he any good then?
  • From the OS

"Also on the loan front, Charlton have declined Bristol Rovers permission to play striker Chris Dickson in the FA Cup against Southampton on Friday night, but Stuart Fleetwood will be allowed to represent Exeter City against Nuneaton Borough the following day."

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :-)
  • Maybeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
  • Interesting news here, maybe Parkinson will give him a few games in early Jan to prove his worth (including a possible FA cup game If we get that far). If not then he will go at the end of Jan!
  • I was starting to doubt my sanity. That was until I witnessed that "performance" from McLeod today.

First touch of an elephant. An elephant with gloves on that is. Very useful for catching the ball though. Would suggest he invests in some elbow pads. Hate him to hurt himself next time he decides to assault an opposition player.

But he "works his nuts off" and "shows the right attitude in training". And Parky is Manager so he must be right.

A Manager who has a record of 19 wins in his last 73 matches that is.

Same can be said for Dickson though.

Not that I can defend McLeod, but Dickson has a poor touch himself.

Once again you're cherry picking to suit your argument and ignoring vital evidence. The way you go on anybody would think we'd been relegated out of the Championship in a distant last place and dumped out of two cups by lower league teams, one in the conference.

    I think you're being disloyal

    etc.

[cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite]As others have said you are now choosing only the stats you like just as Mortimerican chose to ignore the differences between football loans and short term contracts of employment because it didn't suit.

Not 100% sure what, specifically you're dribbling on about here or quite where it fits into the "debate" that you're having with AA, but I'd imagine that I just ignored whatever it was that you're going on about, because trying to have any kind of a discussion, with you, turns into a tedious point scoring exercise that reflects badly on all involved.

I am legally qualified and have spent more than 15 years working with lawyers to negotiate and manage outsourcing contracts (often involving temporary employment, funnily enough) worth hundreds of millions of pounds, so I do have a little bit of background, but I'm sure you know best.

You've dragged me into your web again. I have to give you credit. :-(

These are where I got the stats to which I refer from:

    http://www.soccerbase.com/managers2.sd?managerid=1852
  • Now 4 goals in 8 and substitued after 63 minutes yesterday
  • I think the calls for the return of Dickson will be a little bit quieter this week
  • Clearly things look a lot brighter on the strike front after Saturday.

Parkinson says Burton is 100% fit and doesn't need an op til the end of the season which is good news, Mooney is off the mark and McKenzie has managed two appearances in a row.

The questions now would appear to be:
    Can we extend Mooney's loan?

Where does McLeod fit into Parky's plans? Should he be looking to off-load him in January?

It is not fair on Dicko to count games where he doesn't play the last half hour - he has 4 goals from 4 full 90min appearances so bring him back
    ;-)
  • I would imagine Dickson & NSS best mate Izale Charlton careers do not have very long to run now.

After Northwich he doesn't fit into anyones plans.

I fear you may be wrong on that one.

Given he must be on a decent wage and Parky is obviously some sort of a fan, I think he'll be involved again once he's back from the ban.

I think it'll depend - if we can sign one of Sodje or Mooney either on a permanent deal or a season long loan then I think his days will be numbered, if not prepare to see him elbow his way back into the match-day squad.

  • Trollope still not sure about Dickson
Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope has yet to decide whether to try and keep hold of Charlton striker Chris Dickson.

Dickson, 24, has scored four goals in nine appearances for the Pirates since arriving on a three-month loan deal in mid-September, but he has not hit the target in any of his last three matches.

"He had a frustrating game against Carlisle, but he's been working hard," said Trollope.
"We play in a way that we ask a lot of our strikers in terms of work-rate and by his own admission, he didn't do that to great effect on Saturday.

"He's on a three-month loan and we're assessing it between now and the end of his loan spell and we'll take it from there."

  • I think that's a "no".
  • When is the loan up? Mid December but when exactly?

    Mooney could be recalled 1/12

We know he can score. Just hopes he listens to Trollope when he tells him he needs to do more in terms of "work-rate"
  • The OS originally said 'just before Christmas'. But have noticed before that OS time is flexible.
  • I think he went around the 15th September so he may be back before the Millwall match. By then Sodje and Mooney could have returned and Deon could have had his op! McLeod will be the only one left!!!!!
  • Sodje has already said he'd like to move here permanently in January should the opportunity arise.

I hope he does stay but if he does well, Wednesday may want him back and risk losing him for free in the summer, can't see us affording anything above a very nominal fee in jan unless we sell someone (McLeod)!
