I'd wondered about him too. I think we were after him at Southend before that smug git (now at Newcastle) stepped in with more dosh, as he did for Puncheon and possibly Lambert.
I think Benson and Euells showing on Wednesday night showed they are more than capable of filling in for BWP/Hayes during the season, goal scoring isn't going to be our problem this season
They may fill in for Hayes because he won't score many goals for us either. Fill in for BWP ? You surely must have been hallucinating ?
Bizarrely enough, a couple of years ago a friend of mine met Ian Hume's brother (or cousin, I struggle to remember) in a pub up north when Hume played for Barnsley. This relative said that Ian was keen to move to a London club as he has family in London and mentioned Charlton as a potential destination.
This was about the same time as Pardew's reign was turning sour, so I laughed it off. You never know though, it's not impossible that he has family in London so may still be keen on a move down here.
The fact tha 800K is mentioned suggests that it's nonsense though!
