Was it Alpha rooms or Booking.com or one of those type organisations, @Wilma?
Jet2. Holidayed with them last year and it was amazing. I'm grateful that they let me know beforehand, just annoyed that I'm going to miss out on a lazy week away.
When people reply to really, really long posts and think they need to hit the quote button (see the opening of the Jordan Cousins thread for example) meaning we have to scroll through several copies of a post we just spent five minutes reading.
Also, people doing the very thing that you complain about immediately after you make the point, as if they’ve hit the height of ironic comedy. Extra points for including a winking emoji, the smuggest of all the emoticons.
That illiterate prick Clinton Morrison on Soccer Saturday. Surely there must be other ex players out there who don't use as many double negatives as he does. Unbelievable Jeff.
I’m waiting for the first footballer to become a pundit who respects the humble adverb.
Was supposed to be having a new Bathroom fitted this week which has turned into a complete nightmare... In total the bloke doing it (a recommendation, not from on here who wont be recommended to anyone else) did a few hours work to remove the Bath and three quarters of the tiles on Tuesday and then did about an hour and a halfs work yesterday to clean up the mess he'd made on Tuesday
Still waiting for him to collect the tiles we've chosen this morning and have had what feels excuse after excuse come up about him having to dash off for one reason or another - Now it could be me being really suspicious and they're genuine reasons for him having to be away but apparently he's got until Tuesday to complete the job as has another one starting on Wednesday yet have absolutely zero faith in this happening

Tell him if he doesn't finish on Tuesday, you'll get someone else to finish it and he whistle for his money.

Its certainly going to get to that point soon
Expected him working by now (Understand he had to get the tiles) but called him and he's still at home because he's been having to run his Mother in Law around this morning
Have reminded him that my Wife takes our Son for swimming lessons at 12 so if he aint round by then, its going to be another day of just a mess - Is frustrating as been telling him all week that we need the bath installed by today so my boy can have a bath tonight and get the chlorine off him!!

The problem is they take on so much work and spread themselves too thin. Wouldn't believe a word about the mother in law, sounds like a typical builder excuse.

Do what Mehmet said, none of this bodes well. If he's at the stage you describe you wont be getting a bath installed safely today

Could your son have a shower at the pool?
Tried to give him a shower there before now yet he hated it and screamed his head off - Certainly think I'll be forced to take your advice with the threat
Cheers too @Carter for thinking what I've already suspected
He's said he's getting his nephew round to help tomorrow so hopefully happens and the two of them get a load done, not very confident though

Totally agree there are some greedy people who start jobs and then leave them for a while, knowing that it's there to go back to when everything else dries up. But just wanted to say, from my personal experience, how it can work from the other side of the fence -
- You start a job - You meet a problem that's out of your control - You need the client to make a decision (Time passes) - They faff about (More time passes) - You offer to solve the problem for a fraction of the price, just to get the original job back on track although the problem job will still add time. - Your next start deadline approaches - You miss start deadline and that customer gets a bit annoyed - To please them you make a small start, but you need to wrap up the last few bits on the job before - Each job starts to eat in to each other - The original client asks why it's taking so long and totally forgets that you had to mess about with problems - The client from your next job suffers - The vicious circle starts and it can take a couple of months, of earning no more than you original quoted for a few jobs, to clear the decks and start again
The best way I deal with the above is to be open and honest with each client and not make up the "mother in law" stories (although I was back at work 6 weeks after kidney transplant, because the Dutch bloke I was working for was such a w***er, so even when it was a matter of life and death the job come first). You always get a couple of clients who genuinely think they are the only people needing your services. I could honestly write a book on some of the things that have gone on, from a trades perspective. It only takes one selfish customer a year to make your other decent clients, like ForeverAddickted, suffer and make your stress levels and anxiety to go through the roof. In the UK, you can take on the odd trade or labourer, to keep things ticking over, but the main problem in France is that you can't take any help on because of the costs and liability involved in employing people here (You pay someone 150 Euros per day, you need to pay the State 75 Euros and they're entitled to full sick pay and holiday pay after 3 months. There's no casual work allowed). I've tried working alongside people in the past, but standards are different and it usually ends with taking on twice as much work and working seperately anyway.
I long for the day when I'm back in the UK, working a 9 to 5 and getting home without a care in the world and emails / voicemails / phone-calls to get back to.
In saying all of the above, I have had some great clients over the years, even when the job hasn't gone to plan, and we continue to be good friends to this day.
Why has no one come up with a cure for them? If someone told me I could get an injection to stop me ever having another one I’d pay silly money for it.

Mine's for butt plugs
As bad as builders.
