I cant believe this has esculated so much...I feel for the police, they are fighting a losing battle...I think the army (the TA for example) need to be called in to help the police (not with guns or anything, but just for increased presence on the streets and to help protect people).
I cant believe people feel that have a right to go otu and do this sort of stuff, what morons do we have living in this country.
Drove through Welling and Bexleyeath with a few mates and no one worth bothering with. Eltham is quite. Group of hoodies in blackheath didnt really want to make eye contact with a group of white lads in a car looking at them.
Time for people to reclaim the streets tomorow
Fair play.
Heard there were a few EDL about in Bexleyheath earlier.

I'm ashamed to be British at this moment in time.
Why not with guns? Seriously though, surely they should have tear gas or something. It's pathetic seeing the police run away like that.
Reiterate what Large said, where si the parents? Alot of the black community who are causing these scenes have no father around, can't bare to watch these scenes of poor business owners losing everything absolutly fuming.
Anyone here that interview with the old woman on Sky? They broke into her house and were standing over her in her bed. People need to start being taken out.

Yea, tear gas and perhaps guns with the rubber bullets (see the jackass clip for proof that them things do some serious damage)....this needs to be put to and end as soon as possible and I believe we really need to get the army in asap to help the poor police who are getting battered. They are standing there in the line of fire (literally), with bricks and all sorts being thrown at them - they really do have some balls, I hope they all stay safe - the majority of the british public are incredibly proud of the jobs they are doing right now
People on here throughout the night have called for the Govt to bring the Army in to help out. As an ex squaddie, the main problem I see in this is they don't have the training to deal with crowd handling in a passive capacity. Yes, we'd all like to see them pile in and kick the shit out of them, but the nanny's that run our state deem that to be excessive. During my time in the Army, we were still very much involved with street conflicts in NI so this type of training was carried out on a regular basis. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case.
What this needs is for Cameron to say to the Army, "okay, we'll let you deal with this however you see fit, but do try not to kill anyone". But we all know that this isn't going to happen.
Even if the Army are called in to this, they'd be as helpless as the police, as the way our justice system works, it's set up to protect villians against victims.

The army could be a way of getting policing numbers up looters are getting away with it in towns where the police are else where, we need a spread of authority, Also I think the army would scare them off.

Its about time we actually stood up to the wankers! If they feel the need to throw things at the police/buildings, the army should be able to do as they wish and teahc them a lesson they will never forget.

Rumours of trouble in Redhill and Crawley, although I've not seen evidence yet.
