  • Only saw the 2nd half but the best I’ve seen us play in a long time. Coventry very good, Small exciting (if he had a consistent end product he wouldn’t be with us), Godden class and Ramsey & Jones solid. Well done Nathan Jones.

Got the goal just when we needed it, after that Stevenage looked like they knew that they are not a side with goals in them and their heads dropped. Really professional performance from Charlton with some outstanding performances, lets get the points on Tuesday to set up a battle royal next Saturday. Am I right in thinking that both Alfie May and Matt Godden have ten league goals each ?

A great performance overall against a team just content to spoil. Goal before HT finished them off as they did little else apart from pull and push and shove.

Great to get our noses in front when I was screaming to look forward rather than back.

Word of praise for the ref...apart from s couple of silly bookings st the end thought he was great...for a change.

Totally dominant second half display. Ended up winning it at a canter. Shame we held it in the corner rather than push for a third, but understandable after last week

Some excellent performances, sure that pitch is not helping our passing. Second half we were very good.

Can't really fault anyone today. Special mention to Lloyd Jones. He was dominant especially in the air. Threw himself at everything.

One negative is we have been absolutely mugged by the company that sold us that pitch. Shocking.

The ref deserves some credit. Definitely one of the better ones.
Terrific team performance that gradually wore them down.
Can’t really fault anyone. Credit to Berry who I’ve been critical of previously.
If one had to pick a negative it would be not scoring 3 or 4. A couple of players need to make better decisions in the final third.
Anyway a great effort in a game that could’ve been really difficult. In the last few seasons this is the type of game we wouldn’t have won.

What pleases me most is that we have a squad/team (and a manager, to be totally fair) who are not completely reactive or passive.
Stevenage came with a plan, and it was one that worked initially but we managed to change things up and alter our own plan to the extent that Stevenage were basically chasing shadows from then on.

That early second goal was definitely crucial as it crushed any nascent comeback before it really got started but its been a long time since we could say we were fielding an actual team and not just putting 11 players on the pitch..... until now.

Great performance from 30 mins onwards.
If we play like that for the rest of the season.....

Didn’t someone say it was because we played on it before it was bedded in?

Wtf did Nathan say when AMB went down injured around 30 mins? We were quite poor until then but absolutely excellent for the rest of the game. Fair play NJ
Told the midfield to play higher up. I have never seen Coventry so far forwards he was for the first goal
  • That second goal was a strange one.  Godden was left unmarked for the header.  Stevenage defenders looked like they were in slow motion. TC didn’t hit it cleanly but almost to his benefit as it took an odd angle and hit the post.  Berry almost casually volleyed a tough ball in perfectly.

Taken 5 years, but we finally look like a team again. Unfortunately without the squad depth.

12th goal of the season for Luke Berry, let the praise be as loud as the disrespect.

Brilliant second half and we finally look like a team. It’s in our hands now, we just have to keep going and be a bit lucky with injuries.

Best second half at the Valley all season imo. Could have easily won 4 nil or so.

Let's follow this up with a win against Peterborough while they're on the ropes and we can go to Birmingham with a bit of pressure off our shoulders.

    Up the bloody Reds.

Early second half goal to put us 2 up the key as it made things a lot easier after that and we could have had a few more. Considering Stevenage having lost away in nearly 4 months they offered very little, but that's great credit to us. Another win on Tuesday needed as some tough away games coming after that.

Berry had a good game and kept going for longer than he normally does. Godden is becoming a real class act and one of our main men. Small was very quiet first half which seems to happen quite often but once he livened up, we were comfortably on top. Looking forward to seeing more of Gilbert on tuesday and Leaburn looked switched on when he came on so hopefully the rest has done him good. Ramsey and Jones superb, Gillesphey got through with no blunders and Coventry very comfortable / intelligent player. TC a threat all game as per. Docherty remains a strange one for me - yes, he's got better but a very limited footballer. As big ron would have said however, he is a solid citizen and i guess u need those water carrier types.  AMB was a match winner scooping that ball off the forward. We had the chucks weapon on the bench but didn't need to launch it. We have become a good side and have a promotion battle to look forward to - credit to the club, manager and players.
  • Just got off my flight as 91 minutes ticked over. Great feeling. No watching. No stress. Thanks to NJ and the boys. Enjoy your weekends everyone.

We don't know that yet tbh.

We only made subs today to waste a bit of time, no-one looked particularly tired, and that's the sign of a good, hard-working and fit team.

Anderson missed the game due to personal issues and Ahadme and Watson can't even make the bench at the moment

  • Good win that.

Last couple feel a lot more controlled and comfortable than the first couple of wins we had after Christmas etc, hope we can be that team that has a great run the second half of the season and goes up.

A fantastic 3 points. Into the playoff spots. Keep the bus rolling and autos not out of the question.

Godden wins a lot of high balls that you wouldn’t think he should.

every player performed today. Another 3 points on Tuesday and then onto a free hit at Birmingham

You mean Godden I assume? But yes, Berry also deserves praise lately.

Time for us as fans to step up now. The players deserve to see less empty seats and more noise from the stands.
Plus give NJ the credit he deserves.
