  • Taken 5 years, but we finally look like a team again. Unfortunately without the squad depth.
The club have more faith in the academy than ordinary L1 players as back up. Feels the wrong approach but we’ll see. It’s not as if Edun, REG, A Campbell etc could save the season if we get a few injuries.

Time for us as fans to step up now. The players deserve to see less empty seats and more noise from the stands.
    agreed
  • Really impressive second half, best I've seen us for a while. Only minor grumble is that we're still wasteful in the final third. That will come though. TC looking like this seasons Aribo.

Totally dominant second half display. Ended up winning it at a canter. Shame we held it in the corner rather than push for a third, but understandable after last week

    Agree.
Plus we have Posh on Tuesday, who are having a rest day.
If we hadn't snatched a draw from the Jaws of victory at Blackpool, both Leaburn and Gilbert wouldn't have been under instructions in hogging the corner flag.

    Once bitten twice shy.

Wtf did Nathan say when AMB went down injured around 30 mins? We were quite poor until then but absolutely excellent for the rest of the game. Fair play NJ

  • What was the Ole Ole Ole song that sounded from the East like Tottenham away away away?
    Godden again ole ole 😀

  • Stevenage battled away in the first half, but our class told in the end.

I was surprised when they four subs and then another - I doubted Stevenage could afford to do that - unlike us - and so it proved.  They went out in a whimper.
  • 13-Clean Sheets in the League now... Five less than 2018/19, seven less than 2011/12
    13 more than 2023/24!

    MOTM was AMB

Kept us in the game with a great rushing save when it was 0 - 0 and then his unfortunate and in no way faked injury allowed NJ to re-organise the team.

Before then we had been nullified, after the tweek with Coventry playing slightly more forward we dominated.

Campbell had not been on it but once he got going to was involved in both goals and was unlucky not to score with a lovely shot from outside the area that Berry was on hand to tuck away the rebound.

After that is was very comfortable and we should have had more but let's not be greedy.  Clean sheet, no injuries other than AMB as above and Coventry's nosebleed after running into the oppo box.

Don't like these early kick offs but when you win it does mean a relaxing afternoon.

  • Having Small and TC on each wing is crucial. Opposition defenders must absolutely hate it. TC torments for a period then when they think they’ll get a rest we switch it to another speed merchant on the other wing.

  • Pretty awful first half - outstanding save from AMB. Dominant second half - pity we didn't score more.
    .
TC literally never stops running - must be very fit. Deserved a goal.

Someone else said it but 2-0 flattered Stevenage

Coventry outstanding. Godden superb. Berry linked play well and was involved in most good things today.

    Superb addicks
Not sure about that - it was a good win, but most of the first half I thought they were the better team. Not sure it really felt like a thrashing over the 90 mins.

Great to get the three points. Need to keep going now because we have a great chance of getting out of this fecking league - let’s take it.
  • If Thierry Small could learn to occasionally get his head up and make better choices with the ball he'd be some player.

The day Thierry does that on a regular basis he won't be a CAFC player !

I think he will be excellent on Tuesday as he wasn't sharp today but the left footed goal from Small is coming. Godden wasn't pleased when he didn't give him that pass to make it 3-0 but no harm done and he is still raw.

We don't know that yet tbh.

We only made subs today to waste a bit of time, no-one looked particularly tired, and that's the sign of a good, hard-working and fit team.

Anderson missed the game due to personal issues and Ahadme and Watson can't even make the bench at the moment
I thought Ramsay was blowing hard from about 80 minutes.
But to be expected I suppose following a long layoff.

Poor Thierry Small looked proper knackered, not surprising because he’s been a warrior over the past few matches.

    12 points off second
We were 12 points off the play-offs not so long ago. I’s not impossible but we need to keep this run of form going and we’ll need an almighty slice of luck. Will the points lost points against Barnsley and Blackpool come back to bite us 🤔
