A dud of an afternoon in blustery and wet conditions resulted in a goalless draw. Only a couple of shots on target tells the story.
On the plus side, Lloyd Jones is the anchor at the back that keeps us solid and having him back means we’ll always have a chance.
In summary, no great opportunities but no major errors either.
Lincoln City 0 Charlton 0

That extends our unbeaten run to ... one!31

The yawniest of yawnfests, even the high winds couldn't make this game interesting.
We were fucking shit, and Lincoln weren't any better6 -
I think it's all been said this season regarding the standard of football Jones is dishing up.
Sadly I cannot see it improving.
Sad4 -
We’ll think back to this game when the players are parading the league trophy around the Valley on the last day of the season.30

If it wasn’t for the howling wind outside I would have fallen asleep during that one.
Had the quality of a Sunday league park game.

So happy to see Lloyd back.7

Another perfectly winnable game but we never looked like scoring. Drab all round.7

One of the worst games of football I think I've ever had the displeasure of watching live. We have so many awful players lacking even a shred of quality. Going nowhere jnder Jones. Can't believe some were chanting his name at FT9

0-0, and we start to climb the table...🙄3
-
We are just a part of a bunch of poor sides in this league.......and unless something drastic happens we will continue to dream about promotion and not actually threaten for many more years7

A hearty boo for that if it was a home game. A shrug of the shoulders from me watching from home. Not good enough. Won't be for a long while yet. Awaits reports from those there.0

Come on NJ can't wait for his polishing of the turd!1

On a serious note. It wasn't as bad as Tuesday. Small victories.19

So it was worth the effort by you in the end?

One of our better performances I thought. The lack of quality in final third is ridiculous.Expectations are low for the remainder of the season, so just pleased to get another point on the board.6

Back on the promotion bus!0

Due to the weather conditions not sure there is much to pass judgement on there. Encouragingly at times we did try to play football and pass through the opposition not sure if that was forced on us due to the wind but hopefully it signals a change of tactics moving forward. There are a few players that should never be in a professional football team imo namely Alan Campbell, AMB and Ahadme but it is what it is. The point does nothing for us in terms of keeping close enough to playoffs but tbh I think we can forget that as an option anyway4

2 wins in 12 league games.0

Following the pre match thread where a Lincoln fan said they have quality all over the pitch this can only be described as a magnificent point.Squashed all that quality and brought them down to our level 😂7
-
That was dreadful in terms of any quality from either side, Lincoln marginally better
Taylor and Jones not just the standouts but probably the only players that were anything more than 6/10
A painful watch safe trip back to the 3/400 that made it2 -

Imagine paying decent money and giving up most of your day to watch that.1

First time this season we have seen the wing backs get forward, perhaps Nathan Jones has realised what many less qualified and less paid have been saying all season, give us width. I thought overall, the team did ok, we could have easily have lost that, we didn't and although it was difficult to put moves together in the conditions, there were some better moments.6

Alan Campbell getting anywhere near the pitch is insulting to any youth players. He is a passenger and makes us a man down.12
-
This was nowhere near as bad as tuesday, thought we tried to play, but conditions were terrible.Lack of goalscoring opportunities is a real worry, but defence looks tighter with Jones back.7
-
We didn't lose, I was dissed by @KillersBeard on the commentary and that was about all I can say.
In Curbs time, this would be a stop the rot result to build on.
In this era, who knows?
Now going to let the cup fever build for Tuesday night.4 -
Even game. Both teams defeated by the weather.
Our defence is good in the air with Mitchell & Jones winning almost everything. Not so good on the ground though. Our strikers are never going to score as there is no service....either from the wings or from midfield. Edwards is a great left back so I'd play him there and Small (with his pace) at left wing.
A points a point and will look better tonight as a few teams around us have had their matches postponed so the table will lie for another few weeks.2 -
We had more headed clearances than themStanTheMan said:Come on NJ can't wait for his polishing of the turd!1 -
Positives: Solid defensively again, Lloyd Jones' return playing a big part in that. Less hoofball and actually played through the midfield at times. Gillesphey kept it on the ground and even did an incisive through ball.
Negatives: The usual complaint of no creativity. We really need some wide players, which is of no surprise to anybody (except maybe our manager).
Not a bad result in isolation but coupled with the Crawley defeat means we continue to slip further away from achieving anything in the league.5
