Hope Edward's injury isnt as bad as I have heard...broken ankle.1

It was nice to see the opposition look absolutely fucked in 75th as opposed to us for what feels like first time in years8

But a wins a win and lots of these types will go the other way.
Bolton next ...let's put on a show. What we need next week, is another disciplined performance, a little step up again on today and try and grab that winner.7 -

But I prefer, we play with Grit
Charlton give their fans nervous tics
But the stats state it's six out of six
If Charlton can keep the clean sheet
The fan/critics will stay upbeat.
Talking of Grit, wouldn’t NJ love Gritt?

Priceless.
Like that time Lyle Taylor got injured and people were providing an armchair diagnosis based on the way he was sitting on a bench at a station!6 -

I've changed my position, I'd take another 44.
We were the better team without creating many clear cut chances against a horrible time wasting, shirt pulling, playing for a draw from minute one Orient.
But in the end we took the best chance we had and then did what good teams do ie kill the game, take it to the corner and see the game out. How did your own medicine taste, Leyton?
No outstanding performances but L Jones and Mitchell impressive, Small and Ramsay bombed forward, TC ran them ragged, Mannion not really tested but claimed some corners well.
Set pieces and corners still not troubling the opposition enough but it's early days.
The Edwards injury the only downer in what was otherwise an excellent home start.
Met two of the US owners pre-game, two guys who seem very committed to the project.
Said as ever when taking over a business you find things you didn't know about that have to be sorted out but it was expected and they dealt with them. They didn't specify.
Friedman and Rosenfeld are brothers in law, which I didn't know.
Four of their sons were also there so hopefully the next generation are getting the bug too (the Micheals to Albert and Stanley perhaps if that isn't a damning comparison)
Nothing else I can share, no transfer gossip but they see the need for stability and long termism. They may have started out as investors but now see themselves as fans.
Very friendly and personable guys.1 -

Not sure how a “broken” foot has been diagnosed given that Jones said that an x- Ray was happening on Monday. Had the medical team thought it might be broken bones I’d have expected he’d be off to have an x-ray this straight from the game.7

I remember getting all excited at the football on show in one of the early games under Bob Peeters, think it was a Tuesday night win against Watford if memory serves me correctly. We went on to have a very poor season and the ease at which we passed the ball around that night, seemed a distant memory come the end of that season.
although the football hasn’t been pretty by all accounts, I was using that example to highlight how misleading really good, fluid performances at th start of a campaign can be over a 46 game season.
For me Nathan Jones is the real reason to be slightly more optimistic this season than in previous years. I’ve not been following the club in as much detail over the summer as in previous years, and I’m yet to see them in action (that’s next week), so I can’t offer an opinion on the incomings etc, but I do know we’ve got a proper manager in Jones, and with him at the helm, we’ve got the best man for the job.
No disrespect to Garner and Holden, particularly Holden as he was the more affable of the two, but they shouldn’t have been anywhere near getting a job at a club like ours. I don’t say that from an arrogant perspective, more a reflection of how far we’ve fallen, and that such a job is way, way beyond their ability
we’ll have some off days, and we might have few poor performances. I have no idea if we have enough and we will have enough if we can ship some on and get more, but I do know we’ve got the best possible chance in the last few years under Jones, and I hope the club put the adequate backing behind him as the season goes on10 -

I feel like the '£1m for Ahadme' is going to become the new £2.5m for Francis Jeffers. That million will be heavily weighted towards performance-based add ons and if we ever end up paying it it will most likely be because he's scored enough goals and we've got promoted, so it'll definitely be worth it at that point

I think Campbell did ok but Ahadme was too soft. Aneke made a big difference when he game on.2

Think he's in there regularly from what other people were saying.

Lloyd Jones was excellent today, won every single header and tidy with the ball, starting to see the player Cambridge fans said he was!21

They pressed much higher than us and left us punting hopeless long balls forward while they played the ball around pretty comfortably.Second half they seemed to tire and we got a lot more forward momentum. If not for Small’s comedic crossing we might have been ahead a bit earlier.
I’m still at the point where I can’t work out if we’re a rubbish team scraping wins or a good team just doing what we need to do. Either way Bolton next week will be the biggest marker yet.
Special mention also for a truly embarrassing referee.Jones has addressed what needed addressing. Our ability to keep clean sheets and long may it continue.People criticising Ahadme need to look at why their defence was so tired at the end. He didn’t give them a moments peace. He didn’t have a great game, but he and Campbell were quite relentless in not giving those defenders time. Meaning that when Aneke came on he could simply bully them time and again.6 -

The good thing is, it looks like we have the most professional and well resourced fitness and medical set-up we've had for years.2 -
Really pleased with the result and how much more solid we look.Mannion looked solid and made a couple of decent saves.Ramsay and Small were both terrific, Small a little wasteful with the final ball.Mitchell Jones and Gillesphey look like a solid 3. Nice and aggressive and comfortable on the ball.Coventry once again looked much more impressive than last season. Just keeps things ticking over nicely.Doc needs to show a bit more going forward for me but he’s getting stuck in.I thought Berry would be the only change to the Wigan team and I’m glad he was. A lovely composed finish that I don’t think many of our squad would have had the quality to take.Campbell showed glimpses of great skill and causes some panic. Not linking up with Ahadme just yet though, he needs to get closer to him to play off of him.Aneke and Godden made a big difference coming on.We look solid and have something to build on. Really hoping we just get another 2 or 3 quality players in and we’ll be in with a shout.14

Few teams if any are going to out-muscle us this year. And defensively we look much more secure.
Early days yet but I was very impressed with Mannion today. Don't think signing a new keeper is anywhere near as vital as some think.
Going to reserve judgment on Ahadme until he plays with a different partner to Campbell. Can only hope there is more to his game than we can currently see.
Just hope that injuries don't de-rail our promotion push. Horrible feeling we won't see Edwards for some time. And, after seeing the replay, that was a clear red for Clare.
And finally won't be popular with some but I was thinking if we could play Alfie May in front of today's keeper, defence and midfield that would be a team that is comfortable top 6. But I know move on, move on .....7
