Been listening to NTT20’s weekly round up.
I like that we aren’t being talked about much, it really feels like an opportunity to go under the radar. All we basically got this week was a “defensively solid, maybe they’ll have a better season this year” and they’d rather talk about Stockport and Huddersfield.
Absolutely fine by me. The longer we’re ignored the better I feel about how Nathan Jones has us moving forward.18 -

Has our defence improved ?
The first two games we were hard to beat and two clean sheets were achieved.YES
Will we get out of League 1 with out improving the quality of crossing and passing in and around the box? NO
Will we improve our forward momentum and find the right combination with crosses and finishing with forwards scoring as well as defenders and midfielders? YES
Do we still need an X-factor player (Yann or Lyle type)?
YES.
Unless the X-factor player is already at the club 🤔
Are we in danger of going unbeaten(good thing) after 10 but drawing(ok away but...)too many games? YES.

This has to be our strongest squad to start the league since we came back down.
I will never forget the 2020 season where we started a midfield of Levitt, Oztumer and Vennings with Washington up front on his own (Vs Sunderland). And that was the fourth game of the season.
And who could forget Clayden at LB.
On Saturday our LB got injured and we brought on Thierry Small.12 -

The X-factor player is just awaiting a work permit.
Our stand-by striker has played about six games in his position. Godden, Leaburn, a fitter Chuks and Dixon to come into the picture, and Kanu has few minutes gametime.
Two points a game will see us in automatics. We have 6 in 2.1 -
As long as we stay in touch (by that I mean in the top ten) throughout the season then we're in with a shout- but lack of quality up front WILL cost us. Maybe the owners/investors will strengthen the squad in January if required.0

That's why it's a shame we can't get more in and really solidify ourselves. Only a handful of signings away from having a similar calibre of squad to the likes of Bolton.0 -

Exiled_Addick said:I’m not alone in this, but every time we’ve sacked a manager since Adkins left I’ve been asking for someone who will set us out to be tough to beat first and build from there. Instead we kept hiring managers who only wanted to talk about playing attractive football and season after season we’ve had the same soft under belly and it’s only gotten bigger and softer.
The league campaign is only two matches old, but I’m willing to say the soft under belly is gone. It was a tough, physical game first half (too physical in the case of Clare’s “tackle”) but we gave every bit as good as we got and, as the game wore on, it was us who came out of the battering the stronger. When was the last time we prevailed in a match like that? Normally we would concede a soft goal and collapse but we’ve barely given up a shot on target all season so far.Do that and you earn the right to play. We had to stick at it and win a bit ugly today because Orient matched us for a good chunk of the game. There will be more games like this where we must be patient but if we keep defending like this we’ll always be in games. There will also be weeks we play teams more like we have been in recent seasons. When we do that we may well steam roller them.
Not going to get carried away because we do need to show more quality in attack, but the foundations look strong, at last.
The owners have generally brought in nice blokes who were not up to a battle each week.
Fixtures v Millwall probably illustrate this best when we nearly always bottle it.
I'll never forget the amount of people berating Bowyer for allegedly making Jonny Williams cry.
NB as for golf "I'm always right" addick.
No you're not and your opinion of, I don't care about clean sheets, it's all about scoring goals - well you couldn't be more wrong.3 - Sponsored links:

But will always be happy when luck on our side.
As a game it was tedious, we had no creativity in midfield.TC frightend the Orient defence with pace but has no shot on him
Ahamanade just.seem slow to every thing. He cannot winthe ball or hold it up.
The difference in the second half was Chuck Aneke and his physicality..
Small and Ramsy are terrible at crossing into the box,the corners today were poor.
Just glad the defending is capable last minutes blocks and tackles.
If anything I thought we were a touch unlucky.
Edwards stretchered off & Clare allowed to continue when he should have been sent off.3 -
Any news on the seriousness of the injury to Edwards?0

I doubt if anyone takes a dump in trap three without the lock. However, with an investment of the princely sum of £1.49 you could use the cleanest trap around ... and with complete impoonity.

It would just be our luck to finish 3rd, same number of points as 2nd but miss out on GD. Or worse, by goals scored.

I'm all for Covered End coming out and calling out the fearmongerers passing on utter bollocks. Fair play, people calling diagnosis' before he'd even had a fucking scan!3
