Something I don't think that's been mentioned yet was how impressed I was with Mitchell, specifically his pace, really caught me off guard considering his size. 2nd half his man got in behind and he caught him to the point where they ended up in a tussle and they lost the ball very impressed.
Oh, trap three in the first East Stand bogs still has a broken lock, entering the third season now. I mean how difficult is it to repair. I'd rather not poo with a crowd watching if you don't mind.
Few teams if any are going to out-muscle us this year. And defensively we look much more secure.
Early days yet but I was very impressed with Mannion today. Don't think signing a new keeper is anywhere near as vital as some think.
Going to reserve judgment on Ahadme until he plays with a different partner to Campbell. Can only hope there is more to his game than we can currently see.
Just hope that injuries don't de-rail our promotion push. Horrible feeling we won't see Edwards for some time. And, after seeing the replay, that was a clear red for Clare.
And finally won't be popular with some but I was thinking if we could play Alfie May in front of today's keeper, defence and midfield that would be a team that is comfortable top 6. But I know move on, move on .....
Will never understand selling him
NJ teams play as a team and that includes defending from the front - he didn’t think Alfie suited.
His goals are lovely but somehow he’s always scoring for teams that also concede lots of goals too. Is it a coincidence?
May is like rocking horse shit, a natural goalscorer regardless of style or tactics. He’d score goals wherever he is, but he’s not with us, so we move on, with maximum points.

Might be wrong but my guess is he didn't fit the profile Jones wants. May's work rate and fitness weren't the issue as they're strengths of his, but as a striker he neither has the physicality to hold up the ball, the height to win headers or the pace to run at players with the ball. He's quick enough to run in behind but his pace isn't exceptional compared to someone like CBT when he was here.
Once again, NJ says we were excellent from start to finish but many on here disagreeing. Of course managers are always going to big it up. So, what’s the truth? Or should I wait for Kevin Nolan?

We look really solid at the back and defensively more generally.
I still think we lack a bit of creativity going forwards and that final pass.
A lot better, but my own feeling, at this early stage, is that we will need to get more goals to challenge, but they may prove me wrong. i think we need some attacking quality in midfield and maybe another striker.
i don’t agree with NJ’s assessment, but we are better than last season.

A bird shat on me on the way to the ground today. Missed my head but the shirt and left shoe got a splattering. I decided it was a good luck omen and, of course we won.
So, do I go and stand under the same tree next week?

I think we have consider as many lifer's have said in previous years that only after 10 games can we really begin to judge how things are and what players are up for it or not.
I really can't be critical of Adahme as he's playing with a kid in TC who seems wander off like he's going to the sweet shop..... Adahme needs a better partner before we write him off.
Its true that this is not pretty to watch but as its the worst league to get out of then if we have to endure another 44 games of attrition then I'm in.
I also hope we can stop bringing Alfie May in on conversations, it's like talking about an ex... Move on unless you want ulcers!

I don’t think alfie would have made a difference anyway. We didn’t feed the forwards well at all. Our only decent shot on goal was basically midfielder Berry taking control of a loose ball in the box. And while I have everyone’s attention, I might add that apart from the Kelman/Gillespie mismatch our defenders looked composed and organised. That was my only return really on paying a $23 for the feed - the satisfaction of watching a well organised backline.
We kicked the right way, deservedly won, don't care if it wasn't that pretty. I thought the support was louder than usual, very spirited. The result softens the pressure on the game against Bolton, the 138 points is still on.
Like Mannion. Defence much improved. Not at all sure about midfield - missing the creativity of an Aribo-style player. Up top I hope the real plan is Ahadme + Godden then Chuks + Campbell.
Isn't it time we had a 'we would be so much better if we kept Alfie May' thread. There are obviously posters on here whose nose is firmly out of joint with our 100% record even after just two league games. Halfway through the game today we had the same culprits declaring we would be winning if Alfie May was still playing. It is starting to sound like you are desperate for the team to fail merely so you can come on here and declare 'I told you so'. Get over it and move on.
We were the better team without creating many clear cut chances against a horrible time wasting, shirt pulling, playing for a draw from minute one Orient.
But in the end we took the best chance we had and then did what good teams do ie kill the game, take it to the corner and see the game out. How did your own medicine taste, Leyton?
No outstanding performances but L Jones and Mitchell impressive, Small and Ramsay bombed forward, TC ran them ragged, Mannion not really tested but claimed some corners well.
Set pieces and corners still not troubling the opposition enough but it's early days.
The Edwards injury the only downer in what was otherwise an excellent home start.
Met two of the US owners pre-game, two guys who seem very committed to the project.
Without breaking any confidences @HenryIrving could you elaborate on what our US owners had to say ?
They love the museum, love that the club has so much history (we gave them and their sons each a leaflet with a potted history of the club - copies available from the museum) and they are both big Who fans so loved our displays on the two concerts.
Said as ever when taking over a business you find things you didn't know about that have to be sorted out but it was expected and they dealt with them. They didn't specify.
Friedman and Rosenfeld are brothers in law, which I didn't know.
Four of their sons were also there so hopefully the next generation are getting the bug too (the Micheals to Albert and Stanley perhaps if that isn't a damning comparison)
Nothing else I can share, no transfer gossip but they see the need for stability and long termism. They may have started out as investors but now see themselves as fans.
Very friendly and personable guys.
Empty words . Exhibit A: The lock on trap three in the first East Stand bogs

No. I don't think that is fair. Getting rid of the most prolific striker in the league deserves questioning. Hopefully we will be fine.
Addicks to victory.....2 clean sheets in the league and 2 wins. Not getting carried away though.
We are definitely now hard to score against and therefore beat. Our back 3 look solid particularly Jones and Mitchell. We do seem though to lack some creativity and ability up top however I think this will come as the backbone of the team is now good apart from maybe a championship level keeper.
Couple of things. Campbell is a little light weight to be a starter now as their defender had him in his pocket with some help from the ref. Perhaps his pace and flair would be better at the end of the game against tired defenders? Secondly our set pieces were awful!!
Next week will be the first proper test. Looking forward!

It would just be our luck to finish 3rd, same number of points as 2nd but miss out on GD. Or worse, by goals scored.

we played well in the second half and deserved to win 👍👍👍
