They hired him while he was charged with assaulting an opposing manager in his last job, plus all the prior madness (criminal and non-criminal) that has taken place with this bloke before that. It was a seriously weird appointment and they’ve been predictably repaid.ricky_otto said:

Football manager Joey Barton pushed a rival manager into a metal post after becoming "aggressive" during a match, a court has heard.
The ex-England player is accused of attacking Barnsley boss Daniel Stendel in a tunnel at the South Yorkshire side's Oakwell ground.
Mr Stendel told Sheffield Crown Court he was shoved to the ground after Mr Barton was aggressive during the game.

I got slightly confused who was speaking through an interpreter in the BBC report. I thought it was Barton speaking English with a French accent again. 'Allo 'Allo.

By the looks of the evidence there were no cameras that caught the actual incident, just Stendel going down the tunnel then Barton running after him.
Sender gets shoved and smashes his teeth, Barton says it wasn't him, no witnesses to confirm that it was or wasn't... surprisingly it got that far to be honest given the flimsy evidence.
Is he still due to face trial for an alleged assault om his wife?0 -

On Tuesday Brizzle Rovers had 2 players sent off
They've had 7 players sent off this season, and have the worst disciplinary record in the EFL. I think 3 of them (from Quest) are for off the ball incidents
