Just 4 points from 10 games, with another 10 games before the January window opens.
Brighton away
Brentford home
Arsenal away
Norwich home
Burnley home
Leicester away
Liverpool away
Man City home
Man Utd home
Everton away
Need to get as many points as they can from the Brentford/Norwich/Burnley home games or they'll be in big trouble and even with 150 million to spend they'll struggle to sign anyone decent.0 -

Newcastle fans have reacted to the takeover with a good dose of moderation, long-term thinking and rationality, combined with a keen understanding of the nuances of FFP rules.

Has Maguire been thrown in there for a laugh?13

So it seems Eddie Howe is the man then eh, the man that got his Bournemouth team into the premier league by cheating FFP and couldn't keep them there. Remind me how he did at Burnley? Pretty sure he failed and then Sean Dyche came in and got Burnley to the prem without spending big and has kept them there also by spending very little in premier league terms.
In fact Bournemouth's net spend over the last five years was over £133M yet Burnley's was around £50m but let's not let facts get in the way of Eddie's reputation eh.
Didn't see Dyche mentioned for the Newcastle job though did we.7 -
Your point about Dyche is fair but i don't think that should take away from what Howe did at Bournemouth. Keeping a tiny club with an 11k capacity in the PL for 5 seasons with a net spend of 26m a year is a pretty good achievement.
This won't be a long term appointment anyway. Newcastle just want someone for now who is better than Bruce and can keep them up. They can't get a big name manager now because they might well go down. I'd bet my life if Howe joins and keeps them up the owners will already be looking ahead for a big name manager to take them towards the top 6.

Howe’s transfer business at Bournemouth was terrible when listed. I don’t think he’ll last long at Newcastle at all.3

Howe great manager, fantastic appointment0

That’s with a team with no money, what’s he gonna sign with money……1

There are also some cracking signings in there too btw aren't there. How much did Mings and Ake move on for? Brooks is a great little player. Solanke (who I don't really rate tbh) is on course for 25-30 Championship goals this year, etc.1 -
I don’t think Howe is gonna work out long term. He will keep them out of relegation but he is not a name that great players dream of playing for. Nowadays for big clubs half of the manager’s job is to attract top talent. Howe does not have that skill because he has never won anything except promotion to the EPL. That is not what stars like Haaland (or other greats) are looking for. I think Magpies are gonna be disappointed that throwing oil money around won’t necessarily bring in players they hope it will. I think Howe lasts 18 months… max.0

Notts_Addick said:There is only one guarantee in this takeover and its that the following will all occur before Saturday as with all dubious owners who like to pretend how in touch they are with the club.
1. There will be numerous mentions of the word 'sustainable'.
2. The manager will be sacked before ever overseeing a game for the new owners.
3. There will be numerous mentions of the word 'long term'
4. There will be numerous mentions of the phrase 'not paying over the odds'.
5. There will be grand statements made about improving the training ground
6. There will be numerous mentions of 'how important the academy is'
7. There will be numerous mentions of the word 'ambition'
8. There will be numerous mentions of the word 'Project'
9. My personal favourite, At least one of the owners will follow a local tradition such as necking a pint of Newcastle Brown Ale to show how 'In touch' they are with the club.
10. Fans will gush about said new owner and how 'in-touch' they are with the club.1 -
