Great yet another player written off by the experts before he’s even kicked a ball playing for Charlton. Think I might watch him play before making a comment.

Absolutely a position that needs fillinggolfaddick said:Firstly. WIOTOS.....so lets temper our excitement a bit shall we.
Secondly. Doesn't really fit in with our "lowering the age of the squad" mantra.
Thirdly. Smacks of desperation & not a position we really need filling - unless he is going to play left back.
But is an ex player & everyone wets their pants wanting to sign those so lets crack on with the " now we are going to storm the league".7 -
It’ll lower the age of the team if he plays instead of Watson.golfaddick said:Firstly. WIOTOS.....so lets temper our excitement a bit shall we.

Have you not seen our midfield in the first 4 games?golfaddick said:Firstly. WIOTOS.....so lets temper our excitement a bit shall we.

Arter will be decent.
re Dobson he’s made one glaring error in the game v MK other than that he’s been ok.
4 game’s in, we need to give the lad a bit of slack.
he pings a great ball into the corners for DJ and no doubt kirk will benefit too.

We’ll have to agree to disagree on it being a position that doesn’t need filling.golfaddick said:Firstly. WIOTOS.....so lets temper our excitement a bit shall we.

But is an ex player & everyone wets their pants wanting to sign those so lets crack on with the " now we are going to storm the league".But I agree on the caution of this one. He hasn’t done well in the last couple of seasons but he has always been a player who needs the right man management. Eddie Howe found it brilliantly with him and I am sure NA can do the same.
If his legs are gone then we haven’t lost too much with this risk and he goes back in January, if he just needs to find the right environment then it could really pay off.
One thing I would say is that Forest fans would drive Taylor to another club too and we know how good he can be.2 -
Reminds me of the ventriloquist who was doing an audition at a theatre with his dummy.EugenesAxe said:Bollochs
Half way through the theatre manager stopped him and said.
”Stop and fuck off out of here and take your stupid dummy with you, you are the worst I’ve ever seen.”
With that he starts to walk off stage but turns the dummies head towards the manager and replies.
”Gollocks.”4 -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UY8jCmHJjQ - this was literally a year ago.I have no doubt he probably isn't the player he once was as he was one hell of a player, but just because it isn't working out at Forest doesn't mean he's shit. Forest is the club Championship careers go to die at the moment. Also adds some balance being left-footed.22 -
We make one signing over 30 (the others being 23, 28, 27, 24, 23, 23, 22 and 26 respectively) and you decide to throw that out. It's almost like you've been rehearsing it and waiting for your moment.golfaddick said:Firstly. WIOTOS.....so lets temper our excitement a bit shall we.

And you wonder why you get a lot of stick on here.11 -
This is my concern also. Arter hasn't made the bench even in any of Forest games this season. Don't know if he has been injured. A good player without doubt during a good career but a wait and see for me.Leuth said:This is all reminding me of the Ben Watson hype with added one-of-our-own. Let's see what's left of his engine shall we? A playing career can take it out of you somewhat
I thought we were supposed to be bringing the age of the team down.0 -

There are far too many people about that want us to have a shit season just so they can say they were right all along. Takes negativity to a whole new level most of them lol25

JJ was great for years after his legs were apparently gone 🙂ElliotCAFC said:This is literally Ben Watson 2.0.His legs have gone0 -
Really don’t get some of our fans issue with Dobson, okay, he isn’t Cullen, but he has broke up play well, reads the game pretty well, and keeps the ball ticking over, he gets stuck in and puts his body on the line. For a defensive midfielder, he has done an ok job. For me he has been our best midfielder this season.

Doubt he’s still the player that he once was, but I doubt that the player he is is worse than the rubbish we have in the middle of the pitch at the moment though.0

I'm sure they would prefer permanent too, but Famewo has an option to buy and I imagine it would be fairly simple to make Lee's move permanent too if he's a big hitaddick1956 said:
Hardly difficult considering the low point we had been manoeuvred us into, squad wise. However it is loans . Prefer permanent.thenewbie said:
Probably their own clubs seeing who came in and who would be surplus to requirements rather than anything our end.Richard J said:@Dazzler21. Can I get a positive place on the list? Despite a few people dismissing it. I called this.
As a player he is just what we need and as a left footer it means that we will have an alternative set piece taker.
Why couldn't Arter and Lee signed earlier? Really buzzing about these two signings.
To be fair, Gallen/Adkins/etc have been maintaining all window things would improve towards the death. They just might know what they were talking about after all.0 -
No. You said he has been poor all season. Milton Keynes was one game.Leuth said:
You weren't at Milton Keynes then!Todds_right_hook said:
Totally disagree. He was mom against sheff w. He played well against Wigan and soon as he was substituted, our midfield collapsed. He was substituted because we changed tactics and formation, not because of performanceLeuth said:
If that was the sum total of Dobson's job, you or I could do it. He's been torrid and has had to be substituted almost every gameCAFC_Norfolk said:
Yes, they were.Leuth said:This is why I'd advise caution for now. Admittedly, Arter has shown he can do it at a much higher level - but were Sunderland fans wrong about Dobson?
We haven’t given him someone to pass to in midfield who can then make plays. Dobson sits in front of the back four well and collects the ball to pass it on. Since the Wednesday game, we’ve simply reverted to our back four lumping it up to Stockley1 -
He wasn't though, was he? We ceded the midfield every time he played from about 2014-15 onwards. A great leader and thinker but his legs had absolutely gonestoneroses19 said:

It does fit the mantra of needing some experienced players to help us out, which both Gallen and Adkins have repeated in the last monyh or so.FishCostaFortune said:

I really wouldn't be surprised if Albie goes out on loan.3 -
His Statbank marks, albeit in three defeats, over the last three league games have gone 5.80, 4.69, 5.21. He is not playing well.Todds_right_hook said:

Also Arter might not be enjoying his time in Nottingham and wants to be back in London. Home life can make a big contribution to performances.1

This is some tallest-dwarf shit right here (and it's been Clare, narrowly, imo)DubaiCAFC said:Really don’t get some of our fans issue with Dobson, okay, he isn’t Cullen, but he has broke up play well, reads the game pretty well, and keeps the ball ticking over, he gets stuck in and puts his body on the line. You'd be quite stupid really to say nobody age 29+ may sign just because of age and when they can improve the team.

Are you for real?? Blimey. Apart from the 2nd half against Wednesday, he has been the worst player on the pitch.Leuth said:

This is classic Leuth. If everyone was ganging up on Dobson, he’d be claiming he was the second coming of Pirlo16

None of them have been great. Clare has had his moments. Maybe our perspectives are different because we're basing it off different games though; I've watched SW and MK.DubaiCAFC said:

Yeah but he's had Clare and Morgan as his main midfield partners. Even Levitt would struggle to shine alongside those two.

I can show you videos of a 34yo Ben Watson bossing the Championship a season before signing for us. Forest fans were sad to see him go.Vfrf said:ElliotCAFC said:This is literally Ben Watson 2.0.His legs have gone

Don’t get me wrong, on paper it looks like a great signing, and it may well be the difference this season.I’m just very cautious of signing injury prone players who have very high wages and are over 30.5 -
Well I'm usually keen to defend any player getting unfair stick. If I'm handing out the stick, that's when you have to worry. Maybe Dobson can come good but at the moment he's like a random outcome generator every time he goes near the playBen18 said:This is classic Leuth.
