When players suddenly have a purple scoring patch , is it because they've finally broken through OR is it just a one off golden period in their career?LTKapal said:
Blackpool mate of mine over summer when he heard we were in said despite his goalscoring record, as a player he didn't rate him that highly and didn't think it would be a good signing.addick1956 said:
Except with the wages cap you can't legally do that without movement in first and then guaranteed movement out. Anyway why is Gnanduillet being heaved out ? Footballers seeking work all over the place at present so I can't see it as a voluntary move.golfaddick said:
I would have him AND Schwartz. Ditch Bogle & then you have 4 strikers to rotate.king addick said:https://the72.co.uk/211454/ex-cardiff-city-and-charlton-athletic-target-becomes-available/
Armand Gnanduillet has become available on a free? I know it seems pretty much stamped that we are getting Ronnie but if it fell through, would anyone fancy him coming in?
His record in a bang average Blackpool team is decent.
Too often teams buy strikers after a great season which is never repeated again, Nicky Ajose being a prime example0 -
Sadly I think the last sentence is true.Ben18 said:Wouldn’t read too much into that tweet. Grimsby have major off field issues at the moment, and assume these two represent some stability returning.
Bogle is a hero there, and more than likely just showing his support.2 -

Players talk and such malevolence could lead to players thinking that they don't need such malevolent crap and go elsewhere.0 -
Exactly a freebie for them & we lose his wagesLargeAddick said:
They will get him for nothing now too if we want shot of him.golfaddick said:
Seeing as he's a free agent in the summer I don't know why clubs don't just wait & get him for nothing then......unless they are really desperate for a small player who doesn't score.MattF said:0 -
Apart from his 2 goals, he does create chances ....... Bogle's got 3 assists.ElliotCAFC said:Bogle is a striker that doesn’t create chances or score goals, he’s pretty good at holding the ball up but that’s not what we need.Hopefully he goes and we can use his wages on a loan.
That only credits him with those chances he created that his team mates scored from, rather than the ones they missed!

Think of the 80% of professional footballers who've never played in the Prem ...... never had the big contracts/signing on fees to set them up for life.
Over the generations, England World Cup winning hat-trick hero Geoff Hurst sold insurance; Addicks striker 'King' Arthur Horsfield became a postman; and our legendary Wembley hero Clive Mendonca works on a production line in a Nissan car factory.

And Charlie Wright, our keeper in the same side, ran his cafe in Greenwich.
Not forgetting, Len Glover, who got involved in nefarious activities and spent time as a guest of Her Maj.

Don’t see how you can slate bogle and Washington and leave Smyth out? What has Smyth done? Send him back too?DOUCHER said:we need schwarz plus 2 more pacy strikers - we don't need bogle or washington in any shape, form or status - they weaken the team being on the pitch as does jfc and oshelaja - if i were TS and wanted a way of bolstering the quality of the side, that is what i would be looking to do even though in normal circumstances, it would seem like chucking money away2 -

I listened to an interview with Lincoln boss. Their club was at a crossroads last season. Average age in the squad was 31. They've cut out all the dead wood and now have an average of '22'. Despite this youthfull team they have gone with hungry youngsters on loan from the Prem clubs to give them the quality, pace and fitness, that sits them top of the league. This wasn't an accident, it was the strategy. Maybe Bowyer, Gallen and Thomas, should take note.Oggy Red said:
He's 31. His club now has a policy of rebuilding with younger players.Starinnaddick said:Shouldn't we be asking why his club continue to refuse to play Ronnie. What has he done?4 -

People seem to forget that Karlan missed chance after chance after chance at this level 2 seasons ago! The miss at anfield the other night reminded me of the Shrewsbury away game where he missed about 10 of a similar sort!5
-
I actually think Bogle was quite decent at the start of the season, didn't really score but gave everything and softened defences plus some very decent hold up play and reasonable passing. Bowyer blasted him after one performance and to me, he has looked a bit off his game since; not as keen/interested.
All players react differently to being called out and I suspect he is one that reacts badly.6 -
That’s interesting, what games did he get an assist? I’ve had a look at this our previous games and I can’t point to any goal that he’s assisted, let alone 3.Oggy Red said:

If he was playing for a lesser league one team who built their team around him, I’m certain he’d score more goals. He was a last minute signing to pack out the squad and it hasn’t worked.1 -

Fair enough, I wasn’t sure if you could class that as an assist as he didn’t play the ball. I’m pretty sure it just hit him from 4 yards out and Pratley smashed in the ricochet.stoneroses19 said:

I actually really like him as a person, a real gentle giant, but he’s just not good enough for what we want to achieve.2 -

Yes he did. He missed some sitters that day so we were willing him to slot the penalty and he did. At least my memory is telling me that, which doesn't amount to much nowadays.

It's tough for Levitt as Watson is undroppable, for one reason or another.
