I thought Purrington cost Rotherham £200,000 from Plymouth and we paid Rotherham the same or £300,000 for him.MattF said:
Didn't it come out recently that there was no fee paid for Gilbey, and we got him because they needed him off the wage bill. Pretty sure it was in the SLP that including Bonne our squad cost £275k, £200k for Bonne and the rest for PurringtonOggy Red said:
I believe for signing Alex Gilbey we paid a fee to MK Dons ..... who said at the time they were willing to sell, because of Covid disruption they needed the money.mattinfinland said:Interesting that we haven't brought anyone and all our signings have been unattached, can only assume the 2m from Bonne has gone towards wages?

He's definitely taller than 5'4".bristoladdick said:Is he really 5' 4"? I know it says so on Wikipedia but Transfer Markt has him down as 1.75m (c5' 9"). One of them is incorrect. Or both
But to add to the misinformation, soccerbase has him as 5'8". So that's 3 different heights from 3 sites.0 -

Why don't we loan out our entire first team and loan back in a better one from the Premier League or Championship, with the parent club footing the wage bill of their own players?
It's brilliant!0 -

Smyth is right footed. Very direct and pacy. Also has a few tricks up his sleeve. I think “Waspish” is a good word for him and he isn’t a million miles from John Robinson in terms of annoying factor. Lots of potential in there I’d say5
-
Kelman looks like a very good poacher but needs a bit of time to develop. Probably not the sort of player for “now”1
-
Young Colchester winger Kwame Poku looks worth a look. Very quick and direct but bags of skill and a very decent left foot. At 19 with almost 50 games under his belt he’s obviously got something about him and Colchester could do with the money.2

Just read that its EPS ratio is 44. It used to he said that anything above 20 times earnings was high. Probably due a correction.sunbury-addick said:
Any idea why - my nipper is thinking of adding and buying low ?ct_addick said:Tommy's stock took a beating today -23% so he is probably focused on that
Edit: googled, lower than expected sales due to covid0 -

Stephen Humphrys is another striker. Big strong lad and getting better. Only 23 and scores some really tasty goals with either foot. Very powerful and would probably love a bit of good service. Sadly recently joined Rochdale but worth keeping an eye on for future reference. Scored an absolute peach against us a couple of years ago0

He had a year left on his Rotherham contract when he signed permanently for us. It's thought that we paid pro-rata the value of his remaining contract after amortisation: around £75k.

He's another striker who doesn't score goals.golfaddick said:Looking at those clips he definitely taller than 5ft 4......unless QPR's players are all midgets as well.
He's an international ✅
He's left footed ✅
He's quick✅
He's available ✅

He'll end up with roughly £15k per week out of £30k after tax and NI. How does he then give £27k per week to other people?golfaddick said:
Says they are looking to offload him as they have brought in a number of strikers as well as now also looking at Charlie Kelman from Southend. Never heard of him so looked him up. 19 next month & scored 6 in 30 for them.MattF said:
Why not cut out the middleman & sign Kelman instead. Due to his age we could pay him £10k pw & blow QPR out of the water. I fact, really play the EFL at their own game & pay him £30k pw......telling him he then has to give the 3 other players we sign this week £9k pw each from his wages..😃
Be careful taking financial advice from this man. :-)5 -
The other 3 players register themselves as charities. Kelman "gifts" the £27k by way of salary sacrifice thus avoiding tax and NI on that and each of the players end up with more than the £9K each by virtue of the Government's tax rebate and their charitable status!AddicksAddict said:

Both of you really are overcomplicating things. All TS needs to do is legally adopt our entire squad and then 'pay' them by gifting them money. Didn't think of that did you EFL 🖕.19

Not a surprise but don’t expect a goalkeeper to come in even if Phillips is sold, Bowyer says he’d play Maynard-Brewer in League 1 if he had to.10

I had a look on their forum when we got him and they were relatively accepting that by moving him on it freed up cap they could maybe use across 3 players in their view.Covered_End_Lad said:

Looking at strikers - why aren't we considering a bid for Paddy Madden at Fleetwood - top scorer at this level past 2 seasons at Fleetwood - with better service would score close to 20 at CAFC - yes hes 30 but at least hes proven at this level.1
-
Same situation we've got with Phillips really. He probably is worth money but if getting him off the books allows a stronger overall squad then it's probably worth letting him go on the cheap.Athletico Charlton said:

How would you convince Fleetwood to sell him to us, and convince him to come to us probably on less money than he's on now?SwingForward said:Looking at strikers - why aren't we considering a bid for Paddy Madden at Fleetwood - top scorer at this level past 2 seasons at Fleetwood - with better service would score close to 20 at CAFC - yes hes 30 but at least hes proven at this level.1 -
Listening to the Steve Gallen interview, what he says doesn't fill me with confidence. He says they hope to bring in a couple of new signings. Lee Bowyer has stated he wants three loans and one permanent.0
-
I suppose the issue with AMB is whether it's better for his development sitting on the bench with us, or playing elsewhereScoham said:Not a surprise but don’t expect a goalkeeper to come in even if Phillips is sold, Bowyer says he’d play Maynard-Brewer in League 1 if he had to.
I certainly wouldn't have expected us to bring in another keeper AND keep him here, it would have been so that he could go out on loan0 -
We know. That does not mean we would be out of a chance. QPR will not play him as much, if at all. We can match the wages CAP wise.addick1956 said:

Because it would be stupid to do so in most cases, and it is difficult to think of the advantages.addick1956 said:

Why can't there be transparecy and honesty? Opps , forgot . This is football.0 -
If we can just get Shorty we can then secure the services of a Steady Eddie, Hooray Henry and Simple Simon before making a move for a Flash Harry.
It all makes sense at last.5
