To be completely honest, I think reserve championship or league one players are Bowyers choices, here is why - Hungry, will want to prove themselves at a higher level and most importantly will fight for our club.
He isn't going to spend 5m on some established championship player if he knows his not going to get %100 from them.
If Bowyer feels that a portsmouth winger who has the desire and works hard for the team can step up and is the right player for us, then I'm %100 behind that signing.
In SG, LB, JJ and team we trust.
agreed - pick off the best players from the division you've just come from - the pompey guy seems a perfect example - feisty, high energy, in your face character who is looking for the next step up
Lee Bowyer said strange or unusual when the first offer was made by Duchatelet. If after talking to Matt Southall, Lee has said strange again about a contract then its getting stranger.
This drama is still unfolding and the Charltonisation of fans and players is a recognised medical condition. It made the year's shortlist for new words to be included in the 2019 English Oxford Dictionary but was beaten by dejunk: getting rid of old Rubbish and things of no further use.
Fully agree with LTGTR. Another issue is wages, bringing in key players now is going to cost, also injured players will be back, so we don't need to buy a new side now. Summer is a different scenario with many out of contract. Can see loans and journeymen.
With hindsight, it is odd that Roland made a positive first impression by replacing the seats. I wonder why he did that. A cheap win? Seems odd given how tight he was.
I’m assuming that ESI will appoint a competent, qualified, experienced CEO as one of their first decisions.
I believe they have already said that Matt Southall will be Chairman and CEO, although that might be a short term arrangement. We will have to wait and see if he is competent (he certainly knows how to use PR and has a feel for fan engagement) and hopefully his lack of direct experience will not be a major factor.
A whole week in charge and this is the state of the numbering in the West Stand today.
ESI OUT
Been buying week-to-week in the West since the takeover news broke. I can never find my seat for certain, often having to rely on it being the only one available - they are all like this.

He's been closely aided by the former Bolton ceo so it may be him.

He's got an MBA and has run businesses before.
OK, qualifications arent the be all and end all but he's much better qualified than KM (who isn't?)
McHugh may become financial director so that leaves a commercial director and an operations director who isnt Keohane.
The seats in the East stand are all fine, so I can only assume that the West stand is full of hooligans and delinquents. I suggest an extra 200 stewards at the next home match to search everyone entering that hotbed of vandalism.

Come to the NU, you get seat numbers and a smoking room
I'm not usually one to panic and I get a bit wound up seeing the type of posts, but I am concerned.
I really thought Bowyer, Jacko and Gallens new deals would have been done and dusted by now. With the players being linked it doesn't sound all that promising. I don't expect the best players but you would have thought we may have heard of some proper names by now. Signing a Aston Villa fringe player who's record isn't all that isn't the best start?
I've seen a few people say we will get bodies in and aim to stay up and then the summer will show their true intent. I don't buy that. Relegation would be a major setback and the form we are in with the injuries we have, we are more or less nailed on. I don't believe everyone will magically come back fit and firing. It takes time. Me personally if I bought a football club, within the first 2 days I would be securing the manager the fans love for a morale boost and then be backing him. After all Lyle more or less said he wants to see what Bowyer is doing?
Maybe I'm overthinking it but I'm really not confident we will stay up if we are looking at championship reserves and league 1 players. I accepted it under RD cause it was expected but under new ownership I expect more. All this stuff about fight in a team keeping us up. A mixture of will and skill keeps teams up, not just will. We didn't get close against Swansea really and that wasn't through a lack of effort. We need players who can create those moments and put the chances away. A bunch of tryers won't keep us up
I really can’t believe all this relegation talk, I’m the one whose glass is mostly half empty and I’ve every confidence that we’ll stay up!
We all know why we’re in this position, we were doing perfectly fine before all the injuries and believe we will do so on players returning.
What players are available or who would come, that we could sign without paying over the odds at the moment?
Our recruitment up till now has been good and I expect it to continue to be in this window. I don’t expect all signings to be through the door on Monday either!
Jesus, if I’m able to chill surely the rest of you can too!

How apt for Roland Duchatelet.
ESI OUT
Perhaps ESI need to monitor his efficiency?
Within his remit, but I’d question if it’s within his capabilities.
And fish. Always there's fish.
Oh, and Grapevine's account was childishly hacked - with a one liner. I mean, I ask you!
And the Aussies aren't officially out of the running.
Other than that, no, crack on.
Duchatelet would never have allowed this
Years of heavy duty pile cream has eaten right through the plastic..
