A couple of years ago I decided to stop posting on here for my own sanity until the rat sold.... I was spending far too much time photoshopping Katrien and Roland (although I’m very proud that my Pinocchio piece was used by others throughout the protests) and getting angry with things that felt helplessly out of my control.
I thought it would be a few months away from posting before the sale went through, and I’d be back.
Well, here we are in the next decade and he’s finally gone. I broke my boycott at The Valley last season as I realised that Roland was stealing father/son memories from me, as my boys were 13 and 15 when we started staying away and were growing into young men. I’m so glad that I did because despite feeling uneasy about doing it I got to experience so many highs and created so many memories that I wouldn’t otherwise have been able to. (for those that kept boycotting, I have nothing but respect)
When the confirmation came through yesterday I was overcome with emotion, thinking about relatives who didn’t live long enough to see the end of the regime, the efforts of so many people who helped get him out (all of the groups and individuals, it’s overwhelming how we mobilised as a fan base), emotional about opportunities missed in the past, how much I love this club and everything about it, but most importantly emotional because my fears and concerns for the future of the club have transformed into hope and belief.
I won’t be at The Valley on Sunday due to recovering from bronchitis, but I can’t wait until next week and the biggest party atmosphere since we returned home in 1992. Is a full house possible?
My self imposed CL lurking mode is now over. Good riddance to the stench of the rat and his minions... here’s to the future and what could be one of the most exciting decades in our history.
'Hello, you're through to the Charlton Athletic ticket office, this is His Highness Sheikh Saeed Bin Tahnoun Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan speaking.'
* Excellency
One must try to get these things right.
Your Excellency is a courtesy title used when addressing foreign officials including high foreign national officials such as president and cabinet minister, and foreign diplomats with the rank of ambassador and accredited minister.
Highness (abbreviation HH, oral address Your Highness) is a formal style used to address (in second person) or refer to (in third person) certain members of a reigning or formerly reigning dynasty. It is typically used with a possessive adjective: "His Highness", "Her Highness" (HH), "Their Highnesses", etc.

Glad you're back mate. Also glad we have our great club back.

No - Sheikh Saeed is definitely a 'Highness'.
Oops mixing my Sheikhs there, assumed we were talking His Excellency Tahnoon Nimer. Humble apologies to all concerned. 😳
'Chelsea have told Charlton that on-loan midfielder Conor Gallagher will finish the season at The Valley, despite interest in him from Burnley.'
Hopefully that will put an end to fans worrying that he will leave this window.
It was the Daily Mail reporting it... Was never any need to worry!!
I know that, and you know that, but you try and talk sense and explain the reasons why recalling Gallagher would be a foolish move for Chelsea, and go against all the evidence to the contrary - but fans can be so morbid and have already decided it is a fact.
I would be interested in reading the experiences and stories of those who had to work under the Roland reign. Olly, Jacko, more of the getting to know the network saga, etc.
Such great news for the staff; it must have been a proper ordeal under Shitweasel/Nightmeire. Well done for staying the course everyone....hopefully better days ahead now!
Like that one. Lots of Standard Liege content though, but I suspect that that is down to the Charlton capers being more recent and dare I say currently still a tad litigious.
Any one know if that prat Tony Kehones (sp) gone yet?
they can't just sack him though can they with no good reason. If he's been taking on a job above that for which he was previously employed they may even struggle to demote him, I don't know, Employment Laws are there for a reason. We'd all like to see the back of him but don't think it's that simple.

Just been told they are exchanging contracts here today.
Seems odd that that not already done but maybe a for show thing?

Not sure if its the done thing with takeovers but keen to hear more from them.
Even Roland managed one when he rocked up!
Hopefully that will put an end to fans worrying that he will leave this window.
(watch him go now and ill look like a right bell)
