@JiMMy 85 this deserves it's own thread. Just a couple of minutes in but hooked in and will watch whole thing now.JiMMy 85 said:I’ll probably regret posting this in the morning when I sober up, but until that moment comes, here’s my own documentary, inspired but Sunderland Til I Die.

Cheers lads. Drunk me was correct - sober me knows I probably shouldn’t have posted that! Cat’s out of the bag now I guess. To be fair that’s not really the doc I’m making, filming starts this Saturday for the next 12 months. But some of that might end up in the final film. We’ll find out in a year!
If anyone fancies following me on Twitter, I’ve got an account for this.

I’m trying to show the likes of supaclive that there’s a big audience for this, so all support is highly appreciated!

Yeah Dorking are flying. There’s some resentment from clubs around them that they’ve spent their way up but Dorking don’t see it that way. Even with money that would be an impressive rise.Dazzler21 said:

I used to play For Reigatians and Reigate Hornets so got to a couple of those grounds in cups etc.
Mates all played for Dorking and Horley town about 5-6 years ago, but didn't realise how much Dorking had kicked on!
Charlwood are the furthest north in their league which is a bugger for me, I’ve got a lot of driving to do. Would much rather be attending Reigate Priory etc.1 -

Yep, will be out in February. Includes both Sunderland’s losses at Wembley and they haven’t been filming a third series.1

I won't deny I'm looking forward to this, but it does seem unspeakably cruel of Netflix to dish it out to Sunderland so much.cafctom said:Yep, will be out in February. Includes both Sunderland’s losses at Wembley and they haven’t been filming a third series.

They knew what they signed up too...they’d have been happy enough to release it had they beat us that day8

Before the Play Off Final the group I sit with at the Valley, together with family and friends, (18 in total) booked lunch at the Hilton Hotel at Wembley. On arrival we were each given a wristband to wear, and these wristbands allowed us to use the the hotel facilites throughout the day.
As I arrived at 11.30 I saw the Sunderland team in the Hotel, It transpired that Sunderland FC were staying in the Hilton hotel for 2 nights.
After the game we all returned to the Hotel. The security on the front doors wouldn't initially let us in because we were wearing Charlton shirts and colours, but because we wearing the wristbands they had to let us in.
We were directed to a bar on the 3rd floor which transpired had also been allocated to Sunderland FC for a post match party. Once again the security on the doors of this bar tried to stop us going in because we were Charlton supporters, but they had to relent and let us in.
We pushed a number of tables together and started celebrating. Within a few minutes the Sunderland Owner and board of Directors arrived, who were quickly followed by the Sunderland manager, players and backroom staff. Also a TV camera crew arrived who were there to film the finale of the Netflix programme.
The Netflix people started to interview the owner, but they kept stopping because we were occupying the tables directly behind the Sunderland owners, and there was no way that they could film the interview without us being in shot. In the end they filmed the TV footage out on the Veranda in the drizzling rain.
To be fair the Sunderland owner came over to us to congratulate us and told us to enjoy the evening, but he did say the free bar tab didn't extend to Charlton supporters.
I honestly believe that Sunderland FC didn't expect to lose the Final, they had a party booked with a free bar tab, and there were a lot of guests who turned up to celebrate! For the Sunderland people it was more like a wake, and the only people celebrating that evening were us.
A memorable finish to a truly fantastic day.

It's not so much that Netflix are "dishing" it out on Sunderland, it's because the guys who produce it are die hard sunderland fans. Guess they couldn't bare the thought of seeing a potential 3rd unsuccessful seasonPragueAddick said:

Just red this, thought it was worth sharing
‘right! You lot don’t know you’re born, I’ve seen my football club get relegated with two record low points totals, lose 8-0, suffer back to back relegations, pay £9 million for a player we never owned, one of our best players turns out to be a nonce, concede thee own goals within 15 minutes of each other and go almost an entire calendar without winning a home game and I’m not even 25 years old yet!’

Didn't know that. In that case I've got to admire that (based on the first series) it is so unflinching and doesn't look for excuses. I like people from the North-East. The people I stay with in the Eltham Air BnB are the best people, and are Sunderland diehards, the guy in his late 60s is a season ticket holder, and goes to lots of away games too. He said he could hardly bear to watch the first series, so I guess he will swerve this one completely.Addicktion said:

Yeah, my best mate from uni was a sunderland fan so he's pretty clued up about it all, he was actually on the 1st series! Pretty sure it was when they had an away game Friday night so the producers filmed in a pub in Sunderland showing the match, he still thought they'd stay up at that point, bless him.
He even made me watch the 1st season with him
I can confirm he didn't speak to me for two weeks after the play off final
dont think he's going to be watching the second season but I sure will be hahah 2 -

I look forward to their managers face around 5 minutes into the final, then again on 94 minutes.
When your opposition scores all the goals for both sides to make the game interesting, you're definitely shite.6 -
I dunno. We were alright in 2002-3 when we did them 3-1 at the SoL and they scored all four goals.Dazzler21 said:I look forward to their managers face around 5 minutes into the final, then again on 94 minutes.

Where have you seen that it will be released early Feb? Netflix normally advertise well in advance of it being released and I haven't seen anything about it at all on their twitter page.0 -
I fear this is going to massively disappoint. We need to remember this is a Sunderland documentary7
