They're not delaying buying the club to save money. They're not delaying buying the club at all.Chizz said:
The club's losing money. And there's virtually no revenue coming in to the club over May or June. Do you dispute either of those facts?cantersaddick said:
Except for the one off relegation year when Katrien shat a whole load of money up the wall we haven't list that much in a while.Chizz said:
If a business makes a net loss of £12m a year, that equates to a million quid a month, on average.cantersaddick said:As has been explained many times before the million a month figure is only looking at one side of the picture and is much exaggerated.
Although, if course, the club's revenues are significantly reduced at this time of year and the costs barely lower. So, in reality, a million quid a month is probably a huge underestimate at this time of year.
The quote from Slater tat has since been repeated by Murray and Katrien was they they were some dint 1m a month. That was true but only gives one side of the picture. It's distorted by the fact that the majority revenue come in at specific points of the year either through player sales, season tickets or sponsorship.
If not, then it's clear that the value if the club is diminishing week by week, currently.
Further, if a buyer has agreed a fee for the club, he will have a financial disadvantage in completing sooner, rather than later.1 -
The next takeover thread can't be far off now, surely?1

For me it is only going to be a done deal when I have felt confident enough to buy our season tickets.
Henry will disapprove, but given the very poor state of our communications 'platforms' I am not that confident that an official site announcement would be a convincer.
I want it to be true, but there are ducks in a row to line up now that would then cement my intentions.
Seeing Tony Keohane pitch up as the new sandwich maker in the Winchmore Hill Greggs would accelerate the process of belief.9 -
It is emblematic of Duchatelet’s whole selfish, arrogant and narcissistic approach to the last four and a half years that even at this stage the club has not told you what is going on, yet it is fundamentally engaged with the final stage of the process.
This is at odds with the way other recent takeovers have been conducted and it’s hard for me to believe that isn’t spite on his part. As we’ve seen through @jamesseed and I know otherwise, the Aussie consortium have not sought to conceal things from the media or the fans. That is of itself encouraging, I would say. Chill out and wait.27 -
Nothing new. He was identified as chairman in April 2017; he denied still being involved a month ago when he was asked in a social setting. But he is probably savvy enough to know that a positive response would have been posted on social media.FAVADDICK said:Airman do you know anything about the philip akien rumour at all ??

Greggs @seth plum cleaning the deep fryer with his tongue at the valley cafe would nearer the level that man is at.3

I have been known to have vegetarian sausages and chips, with tea at the Valley Cafe (no side effects), I would never venture in there if Tony Keohane was lucky enough to secure employment there.T_C_E said:Greggs @seth plum cleaning the deep fryer with his tongue at the valley cafe would nearer the level that man is at.
Winchmore Hill is north of the river, aka Scotland, so I would prefer him to go there.3 -

We will be taken over, wait a few more weeks(apparantly).bertpalmer said:ive been away and cant read that amount of posts on this thread to catch up, so can anyone give a quick update whether it is Red Bull that have now taken us over and is everyone happy with our new owners and with the amount of money they intend to invest, and is it ok to now renew my season ticket?thanks
Don't buy your season ticket yet as Duchatelet will get the dough.
Hope you enjoyed your holiday.

Ignore the whole short of funds business. I firmly believe that people saying they’re short of funds is because it hasn’t been completed and announced yet.J BLOCK said:
Yes they have been looking at further investment but as a consortium, it’s only right they look at further avenues of extra money. They’re not going to get any old Tom, Dick or Harry in, they will be people they know and can rely on.
To say it’s not at the EFL stage in my opinion is short sighted when there are enough snippets of information to say it is. Things obviously have taken much longer than anyone would have wanted and I do include Roland in that too. Much has been spoken about the due diligence and the problems that came up back then, but they wouldn’t purposely be dragging heels and waiting things out whilst spending time and money to complete this. To me, the fact that it has taken so long is actually a good sign in the long term, unlike Roland who didn’t really bother much and was completed very quickly in the grand scheme of things, these Aussies want things in order so they can sort it out properly. That can only be done with a thorough process.
We are the final hurdle now, we have waited this long, we can wait another week or so.7 - Sponsored links:

They should ask themselves who's saying it, and why they're saying it. And how old the info is.J BLOCK said:
The delays have had nothing to do with raising funds.
Anyway you'll find out if anyone asks those questions at the press conference.2 -

The reason your mate says they're short of funds is the interesting thing.2 -
Wouldn’t spite afford him at least a little intelligence, I’d imagine it’s more likely just incompetence, after all that’s been the foundation of his ownership to date...Airman Brown said:It is emblematic of Duchatelet’s whole selfish, arrogant and narcissistic approach to the last four and a half years that even at this stage the club has not told you what is going on, yet it is fundamentally engaged with the final stage of the process.

To me it sounds as if there are two parties that have done DD, know the price, reckon it is too high and are waiting for RD to reduce it. Promoion would have made it do-able. L1 not.0

How do you derive that from numerous people saying it's with the EFL and we're waiting for the greenlight?harveys_gardener said:To me it sounds as if there are two parties that have done DD, know the price, reckon it is too high and are waiting for RD to reduce it. I suppose the question is, who in the club is seeking to communicate with fans and puts value on them being informed? Murray probably feels he’s had his fingers burnt and it’s likely this will not be his preferred outcome anyway. There is nobody in authority with a communications brief.Fumbluff said:
