End of the day, if Cawley is saying it’s with the EFL then funds must be in place, next week could be interesting.

We've known it's with the EFL for some time. From the horse's mouth.
    Plenty to mule over.

As long as nobody makes an ass of themselves

  • I thought we had discounted Arab interest at this stage?
  • Mark Bosnich goalkeeper coach
  • Kevin Muscat as tackling coach !
    Sorry that's OTT.

Exactly my point, although there are some saying they’re short of funds

They should ask themselves who's saying it, and why they're saying it. And how old the info is.
The delays have had nothing to do with raising funds.
Anyway you'll find out if anyone asks those questions at the press conference.

Nobody is going to turn up with a bag of gold sovereigns, climb the statue of Sam Bartram and wave an Australian flag

So you're saying it's all off?

I've never flagged anyone before, but you came close there.....

  • Kevin Muscat as tackling coach !
    Sorry that's OTT.

OTT is a description of his tackling style.

    Eh?

I've never said they're short of funds. The delays are nothing to do with raising funds.

The reason your mate says they're short of funds is the interesting thing.
  • It is emblematic of Duchatelet’s whole selfish, arrogant and narcissistic approach to the last four and a half years that even at this stage the club has not told you what is going on, yet it is fundamentally engaged with the final stage of the process.

This is at odds with the way other recent takeovers have been conducted and it’s hard for me to believe that isn’t spite on his part. As we’ve seen through @jamesseed and I know otherwise, the Aussie consortium have not sought to conceal things from the media or the fans. That is of itself encouraging, I would say. Chill out and wait.

Wouldn’t spite afford him at least a little intelligence, I’d imagine it’s more likely just incompetence, after all that’s been the foundation of his ownership to date...
  • To me it sounds as if there are two parties that have done DD, know the price, reckon it is too high and are waiting for RD to reduce it. Promoion would have made it do-able. L1 not.

I suppose the question is, who in the club is seeking to communicate with fans and puts value on them being informed? Murray probably feels he’s had his fingers burnt and it’s likely this will not be his preferred outcome anyway. There is nobody in authority with a communications brief.
  • ive been away and cant read that amount of posts on this thread to catch up, so can anyone give a quick update whether it is Red Bull that have now taken us over and is everyone happy with our new owners and with the amount of money they intend to invest, and is it ok to now renew my season ticket?thanks

We will be taken over, wait a few more weeks(apparantly).

Don't buy your season ticket yet as Duchatelet will get the dough.

    Hope you enjoyed your holiday.
    yes great holiday thanks Elfs

thanks for update,i will hold out on season ticket but do you think it would be ok to take up the 2 for £20 home shirt offer?
    Definitely not!

How do you derive that from numerous people saying it's with the EFL and we're waiting for the greenlight?
    Keep up!

RD And they are advancing but well, when exactly they will be close is always a big question mark, you know and it really depends on the questions today with these things as lawyers and stuff and supporters are er sometimes it’s complicated

ROT 2 It’s not just waiting for the English football league then, or

RD Err I don’t think that will be a problem huh, so there were

    ROT 1 Is it…..

RD Also the problem of the funding huh, of course huh

ROT 1 Is it the Australian consortium?

RD Well, there are still two, two parties interested huh

  • Mark Bosnich goalkeeper coach

No thanks - there is a top goalkeeping coach at the club.
  • The person who has told me there are issues with the funds is the the self same person who ROT doorstepped on the weekend

All be it second hand from someone working with him and his son

Now I don’t see why it benefits him to lie about there being an issue with funding and he is the only one who would truly know

Is it because no amount would ever be good enough for him until reality becomes unavoidable?

I think this has been gone through already lol?

If you want to be forensic:

'RD says: Also the problem of the funding huh, of course huh

ROT Is it the Australian consortium?

RD Well, there are still two, two parties interested '

So he's saying there was a second consortium, but they had problems with funding, because when he's directly asked if it's the Australian consortium that has the problem with funding, he introduces this other consortium.

I think you'll learn a lot more over the coming weeks.

You won't hear any more from my source because it's reached a stage where he can't say anything :-)
    @harveys_gardeners do keep up
  • No because I was told in the same conversation that a fee was agreed the issue was upto that point the only delay and that’s what I posted I believe it was along the lines of

“As of 645pm tonight ( a few days back) the only hold up was the aussies had yet to prove funds to complete “

I also said they may well have the funds or be able to secure them but they had not at that point

Then RD said the same and James posted that two investors had still to sign off

Without that sign off the EFL were not the delay it was at cafc end
