I simply cannot imagine that overnight the arrogant/egostistic Duchatalet has suddenly realised what a dick he has been and decided to let football people make football decisions. What next? Meire admits she's got things wrong and Murray decides he should stand down in the interests of the club?valleyrobin said:How far can we trust Duchatelet to be telling Chris Wilder the truth! I don't think so from Jose Riga's body language you could see he wasn't happy and a leopard never changes its spots.

He'll be an interim assistant coach to start with ...CAFC_Norfolk said:I'm a little worried about an assistant coach with the surname "Knill" - our strikers aren't prolific at the best of times without confusion about the new coaching strategy

You are most probably correct but that just reinforces my point of how far our sights have been lowered.Wheresmeticket? said:

Because he has been told we will have new owners shortly? Wishful thinking on my part probably.Airman Brown said:Ditto Large. I wonder why he would ask for such advice and then not take it based on promises from a man with RD's record. Money, possibly.
He'd be a decent appointment in my opinion, but Meire has to be got out of the way completely or they will just revert to type sooner rather than later.
Anyway it shows how far this club has been run down if we are now getting excited over poaching a Cobblers manager. It maybe disrespectful to Northampton but I think we should be aiming a little higher. I couldn't care less if he was English or not.0 -
Its nothing to do with how low our sights are, but how shit we were.charltonkeston said:

Having watched that video I find it very difficult to believe the guy could ever work with the Regime, perhaps he's just making a point to Northampton?5

He probably won't have to raid his old club. First goal should be to keep players such as Diarra because he is far above League 1 level. Players like Kashi and Cousins need to stay too because if CW has these players at his disposal, I have no doubts he can get us back up to the Champ.8
-
I hope if this does happen and we see him bringing in players he wants, that we can all get behind the club again. Uts 9je thing for fans to say they want a britisj manager snd players and the maansger to be given time. I really hope we can be patient wuth wilder. Lets say he lises a few games early on, a bit like harris did at millwall.... will everyone stuck woth him or turn on him and rhe owners again? Let's face it they aint going anywhere so it's...
a. Continue protesting and hope we win matches and then Roland sells once we're up.
B. Get behind a new management setup and make the valley a good place to watch football again .1 -
Not quite sure that the likes of Diarra,Kashi are CW's 'type' of player. Seems he is more likely to want a nuggety norvener than a World-cup winner.dizzee said:He probably won't have to raid his old club. have a feeling he won't take the job.
once he starts talking to people within the club, he'll realise what a shower of incompetent shit they are.
judging by that earlier interview, he's no fool and unless he gets exactly what he wants, why bother?
on this occasion, he holds all the CARDS.1 -
So either fight for the club we all love - for its future to be as prosperous as can be (without RD of course)superclive said:I hope if this does happen and we see him bringing in players he wants, that we can all get behind the club again. OR
Put up and shut up , because we've hired an English manager with no experience above league 2 ... Not knowing what the future holds3 -

Alan Knill has a fear of squirrels. Once he finds what Meire's nickname is, he won't bother to sign ;-)

Imagine if two years ago someone had said we'd be excited by (probably) luring a League 2 manager and even more thrilled that he might bring some of his players with him.The_President said:Norhampton fans unanimously 'gutted' by his departure and concerned that he might cherry-pick his old club. Who have they thats any good?
Thanks Roland.0 -
Think this will all end in nothing - However if it goes ahead I will not comment on our new Manager until he has had a couple seasons to settle in.7
-
looking at that video you would think that Chris Wilder v RD KM is a head on car crash.

I think he's going to take the job, but it's seriously got to the point with me where I could care less who the manager is. I'm not interested in any success whilst this regime is in charge, they could release a statement tomorrow apologising for all the mistakes they've made and offer all fans free season tickets and it still wouldn't be enough. Even if we somehow got promoted next season and broke Chris Powell's record points total I just could not enjoy any success with Roland, Katrien and Murray here, it doesn't feel like my club anymore...16
-
If he takes the job I really hope he is able to do all that we'd like. But I think that he'll be prevented from managing properly.0
-
Wilder has been given complete freedom to do what he is told.9
-
Blimey, don't he go on....yap yap yap! Can't wait for the car crash between him and Meire.1

Protests must continue.2

Is the correct answer mateChris_from_Sidcup said:
To me this roughly translates as, we're a big club at this level and we've offered him 2-3 times his current salary.

My educated guess is this would stem from the recent talks with Lennie Lawrencenewyorkaddick said:Posting without reading, but how widely do we think the club has cast its net before focusing on Wilder as their no.1 target? Do they even have the ability to cast it widely?
His achievements this season (and to some extent prior) are indeed impressive, but he'd surely only be one on a fairly long list of potential realistic candidates with pedigree.4 -
The war is so deep now that we now have to take a breath and be careful. If Wilder and asst are appointed (as managers not coaches) and are given a fair remit on acquisitions then, for me, I'm willing to give the new set up a chance the Rat has the money to make us successful if he chooses. . Would be a real win if the liar was shipped out as well.4
-
Any chance though that this is partly from Jacko's input?0
-
sacking Meire would make a bigger statement than appointing Wilder.24
-
If Wilder joins us RD just needs to sit and watch leave him to do the job, give Chris money for players which shouldn't be hard to do after we sell, Gudmudsson, Texiera, Bauer etc.0

In that case then maybe we should appoint his Spanish brother JuanCAFC_Norfolk said:I'm a little worried about an assistant coach with the surname "Knill" - our strikers aren't prolific at the best of times without confusion about the new coaching strategy
That said, I am a man of principle, and the puns will clear improve with Wilder and Knill here, and I am forthat.2 -
Cawley seems to be saying if CW comes others will follow.
Assume this means a director of football and chief scout not just a no.25
