We could really do with a new takeover over thread being started to give us some hope, surely you can only shoot yourself in the foot so many times before you run out of bullets?

Aren't Roland and Km ashamed of being such clueless dickheads? I would run a mile from this club if i was as despised and usless as those two.
Just another post in a cv full of complete diviness- keep it up.

They're not ashamed of anything and think they know everything, hence the stance of an ostrich and the barking mad statement on the website.

Deafening silence from Sue Parkes these days....

Every time she puts her head above the parapet on Facebook she gets dogs abuse. Wouldn't blame her for taking a bit of time out

To be honest, she probably would have done more damage to her employability/CV by staying in the role after Tuesday.

Thanks for the memories Mel, best of luck for the future.

Now do I lead with this in tomorrow's email to Katrien or the fact that I was alerted (on another thread) that Roland temporarily mended a pair of shoes with some duc/masking tape.....

Anyone work in PR/comms and/or know of any jobs going? Would be good if some one had her contact details and sort her out some interviews. Although I'm sure she won't have too much trouble.

    Good luck Mel!

Everyone 'ITK' stated she was overpaid and underqualified when she got the job so I can't imagine many takers on here.

I do wish her the best though. Her background to date and then an explainable couple of missing months shouldn't cause her any problems going forward.
You are honestly the most contrary person I've ever encountered.
Personally I don't think he's even getting out of first gear here, this thread is like a kick about for our PL

    Good on her

She's got a case for constructive dismissal without a doubt but she seems a woman of principal so good for her. I hope she finds something else soon and sings like a canary to the media

I have nothing to do with PR and nor do I have any real knowledge (Feck off Katrien, I dont want the job thanks) but something tells me she could really make a name for herself by using this to her advantage.

It demonstrates professional integrity, self respect and respect for those she's paid to engage. If she could tastefully use this situation, without appearing bitter or out for revenge, then those are very admirable traits to have attached to your name.

Arguably she demonstrated that despite the gamble of taking a career step up, the position was still beneath her.

Hi Henry this link is worth a read:

    https://www.crunch.co.uk/blog/small-business-advice/2011/05/03/probationary-periods-the-myths/

She would have or has got a good case, the time served is non relevant and damage to reputation and prevention of future employment oppertunities are both active.

If she is smart she will have already took them for a big compromise settlement number if not she perhaps still could.

Two years qualification for employment rights is Employment Rights Act stuff - this blog is about probationary periods which quite rightly stated have no recognition in law. The case law quoted was about breach of contract regarding notice periods - Mel resigned I understand! She has no claim whatsoever unless she can prove she had no option but to resign i.e. Constructive Unfair Dismissal, because she had been discriminated against on the grounds of race, sex, sexual orientation, age and so on.

Settlement agreement my arse! A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

I suspect Mel would have advised her, for her own wellbeing as well as that of the club, to shut up. I would have if I had just started in a comms job. Will be interesting to see if she starts again now Mel's gone.

Mandy Gobshite the new interim manager of miscommuncations.

But seriously. I still think alienating the fans is all part of Roly's master plan. He is up to something, he has to be, because nobody who has amassed his wealth can be that stupid.

she'll be taking up an easier role... She's taking on PR for Donald Trump in the UK

No, I've heard shes going to work for the Taliban, apparantly they are easier to work for, much more popular, offer a more supportive working enviroment, and release more coherent and believable press releases.

I think we should all apply for the job. I've just sent this email to the CEO.

    Dear Katrien.

I would like to apply for the post of Head Of Communications.

I believe I am ideally suited to the role as I am based in Thailand, quite a long way from either London or Belgium, therefore my input into your communications will be just as M. Duchatelet likes: non-existent.

In the unlikely event you would require the head of the department to draft, edit or approve any bulletins, press releases or emails to customers, I am at the end of a computer and in the event of my absence, we have two Burmese cleaning staff who could quite easily write a bulletin to the required standard, assuming Tuesday night's announcement is the new norm.

I am available for an interview in either London or Brussels. Simply transfer the cost of a return business class flight from Phuket to my bank. I can supply details. Alternatively you are welcome to interview me in Phuket and I will even allow you to stay at the one star Pineapple Guesthouse at a 10% discount off the published rate if your beloved leader is looking to save money.

    CV not attached.

    Regards
Bangkokaddick (actually I used my real name)
    Phuket, Thailand

That is a terrible problem for the supporters.

I fear for what mess they will eventually leave this club in.
