It would appear chaps, that the last 5 days have firmly put the club in crisis mode. A few more blows and I think they're done, and fortunately for us, we can potentially count on them to provide the blows themselves now.
I fear that they're like Homer Simpson in the episode where he becomes a boxer, their only ability is to take blows and not be too fussed.
As for Mel quitting, probably a good move, and one done on principle. That being said, there were some who singled her out for criticism during the last two statements, which I thought was silly. The Sunday statement is exactly what you'd expect. It's for the media, it's milquetoast, but her job is Press and Media relations (or something to that effect). Obviously, she could do nothing about Tuesday. My point is, she shouldn't just be congratulated for quitting, she should be congratulated for trying her best, then quitting when her position clearly became untenable (This isn't directed at you Lucky, though I think I made a similar point after quoting you on The Statement thread, neither were directed at you).
hah, and much like The Statement thread I agree completely!
Your comparison to Homer the Boxer is a depressing one though, and knowing our luck it will be bang on the money sadly.
Full respect to mel Baroni. She was getting some praise from people who met her, and she probably didn't realice what she had walked into until she sat down at work on the first day. She found out the full horror this week, and as a profesional with pride in her job, she walked out and left them to talk to the press as and when, which is what they were doing anyway. I hope the BBC and the Guardian, who both played the statement a bit too neutral for me, see the latest car crash at the Valley, and tear the regime another new one. Good luck Mel.
Met Mel at the Bromley supporters meeting, as many others have said she came across as thoroughly professional, dedicated, humble and likable.
Talked to her 1 on 1 at the end, just to say she had a massive job on her hands as the relationship between Roland/Katrien and the majority of fans is completely fractured, very similar to 'Covered End's' advice back on page 1 or 2.
Such a shame she's gone, but to keep her self respect I'm sure she had no choice.
Good luck in your next job Mel.
Will the last employee to leave the Valley please turn off the lights.

Well put. As far as them playing it neutral, it's a tricky one for the serious news outlets (no I'm not counting The Mail) to report other than with a straight bat. I know The Guardian posted something on it within a couple hours, which isn't a lot of time for context or nuance. And for all they know, things might have happened since Sunday that fueled that statement (again if we're going on an hour's worth of research).
More importantly, we've seen people high up/well respected/Glendenning at the Guardian speak out about, or respond to our Tweets about our ownership. Little one-off, 2-300 word articles aren't really the place for criticism, I suspect those will come in larger pieces in the future (hopefully).
Also, I've just popped over to the "Latest Statement" thread and proposed changing the title to "The Statement" (in case any mods happen to look here and not there).
Talking to a journo about this after the OS stuff, he gave me the identity of the "interim" guy who preceded Mel. Name of Phil Dorwood. Ex Premier League (as employer) and briefly of Spurs. But he has no Linked In profile, which nowadays is suspect in itself for a person in that kind of role. Journo didn't rate him much. But I guess he will be back soon :-)
We would like to thank Mel for all her hard work, in the six weeks that she was employed. But now that she has become a bitter ex employee, we would like to assure fans, that the extensive search for a new head of comms has begun. In the meantime, Mels activities are being covered by an untrained interim NHS call centre employee, wibble, I am totally hatstand.

Who in the right mind would want a job at this nut house of a football club at the moment
That Tongue woman?
Meire's squash partner? I doubt it.
someone should tell @tonguetweets that a young woman trying to make a career in football has been driven out by an old man ignoring her professional ability in what seems a very sexist way.
I'm intrigued - What was the seemingly sexist / discrimation issue that you are claiming them to have been part of ?
Just caught up with this thread and haven't read any of it. To be honest it's no real surprise. She obviously takes her career seriously and likes to operate with honesty and integrity so couldn't in any way shape or form remain associated with such a dysfunctional, duplicitous, bag o' wank regime. I wish her well in whatever she ends up doing.

Where there's blame......
PL54 - I think Henry is referring to the fact that KM's supporters (aka only herself and this silly moo over at tonguetweets) have stated that KM is only being hounded because she is a woman and if the CEO was a man there would be no protests. So by that logic RD going over the head of the female Head of Comms by posting his own statement (since by all accounts there is no way Mel would in good conscience would have allowed this to be posted if not directly ordered by RD) then it can equally be claimed a male Comms Heald would not have been treated this way.
Good luck to Mel :-) For anyone thinking of applying for the position of Head of Comms, CAFC already have an interim Head of Comms in place - young chap by the name of Roland Duchatelet, very funny guy, knowledgeable on football, should do well ;-)
Anyone work in PR/comms and/or know of any jobs going? Would be good if some one had her contact details and sort her out some interviews. Although I'm sure she won't have too much trouble.
What on earth happened when Mel B came into work this morning:
"Hi guys, anything interesting happen last night". "Err we posted a match report of the Kent Senior Cup, and a statement that the St Truiden Two made us post". "Well it show's they are listening, I told them they should be more communicative, let's have a look". "Actually, it might not be that good, I think you should have checked it first". "WHAAAAAT!!!!! Quick I need to update my profiles on LinkedIn, Husdon's, Reeds and Fish4 - I've got to get out of this madhouse".

Nothing to do with 'sexist'. I'm sure it hasn't escaped your notice the gender of his CEO.

I understand now. Thanks.
So Henry is staying in a public forum that sexism was involved and this resulted in MB's resignation to RD and KM / the club.

Edit: I mean the regime not the coalition.
Seems CL needs a communications manager. Anyone know of any likely candidates?

Her case for unfair dismissle is simply wonderful, constructive dismissal circa 50k if played well, let alone reputation damage claim!
I hope she's been smart, if not it only costs 75 quid to raise a no win no fee claim. Aledgedly
