Who in the right mind would want a job at this nut house of a football club at the moment

    That Tongue woman?
Meire's squash partner? I doubt it.
someone should tell @tonguetweets that a young woman trying to make a career in football has been driven out by an old man ignoring her professional ability in what seems a very sexist way.
That's how you earn a promote!
    ..... {sulky face time} {..}........

    What's a promote?
  • Anyone work in PR/comms and/or know of any jobs going? Would be good if some one had her contact details and sort her out some interviews. Although I'm sure she won't have too much trouble.

    Good luck Mel!

Everyone 'ITK' stated she was overpaid and underqualified when she got the job so I can't imagine many takers on here.

I do wish her the best though. Her background to date and then an explainable couple of missing months shouldn't cause her any problems going forward.

Are you sure they weren't referring to the CEO?

    Nothing to do with 'sexist'.
I'm sure it hasn't escaped your notice the gender of his CEO.

    Whoooosh

    Not really
  • Accusations of sexism at Charlton.

    I can see the headlines......

    I've obviously missed something here.
By the way, did the Huddersfield programme turn up?

  • Another damning indictment on the current regime.
Who would now want to be associated with these people in a professional capacity?
Surely it's nearing the end of the line for RD, KM and Murray.
  • The trouble with Mel was she was just too good. Looks at the is, she had the comms team posting stuff two months in advance, I think she left herself with nothing else to do!

you can't see the shit at the end of your nose
    Come on now
  • Yeah, I get the impression she was a) competent and b) pro-active and c) wanted to make a success of her job and d) understood football and being a fan.

A shame she has left but not the sort of person the current club management would want working for the club.

    Angry face
  • Gutting, hoped it would be Katrien.

    You're joking ? Leave her be she's doing a great job :-)

    Will check tomorrow.

Jo Tongue is a friend of KMs and claimed that all the criticism of her was due to sexism and in no way related to her incompetence.

  • Hi Henry this link is worth a read:

    https://www.crunch.co.uk/blog/small-business-advice/2011/05/03/probationary-periods-the-myths/

She would have or has got a good case, the time served is non relevant and damage to reputation and prevention of future employment oppertunities are both active.

If she is smart she will have already took them for a big compromise settlement number if not she perhaps still could.
  • Total respect and admiration from me. That's a big decision to make.

If singing her name at the Brum game, try it to the Macarena

    Whoa... Mel Baroni

Not sure about the dance routine though!

I've always thought (well for 46 days anyway) that her name would be well suited to the song Bonie Maronie as done by Dr Feelgood and others:

I know a girl called Mel Baroni
She's as skinny as a stick of macaronie

On the Dr Feelgood theme, perhaps we could do one about that statement, "They wrote it on drugs and alcohol..."

Cheers - I've been signing this out loud at home. Mrs Otto must think I'm having an affair, I'll have to say its out new Italian Centre Forward.
  • I thought according to the ticket sales lady, that Meire was the best boss you could ever have? Oh well no doubt each new appointed head of Comms will be the right decision.
  • Haven't read any posts but well done to her. Can CARD recruit her ?!

Frankly, they are already doing such a bloody good job they don't need her!
  • Good on yer Mel, one smart gal - pity KM doesn't see it.
  • Aren't Roland and Km ashamed of being such clueless dickheads? I would run a mile from this club if i was as despised and usless as those two.
Just another post in a cv full of complete diviness- keep it up.
  • '46 days, just 46 days, let's hope you sell up, in 46 days.'
  • Good on her

She's got a case for constructive dismissal without a doubt but she seems a woman of principal so good for her. I hope she finds something else soon and sings like a canary to the media
