He probably hasn't even paid £45.
He's just loaned it at 3% interest4 -
This is a short-term, and very naive approach to supporting Charlton.paulie8290 said:

Save yourself £45 which sounds moronically exceptionally steep for the occasion.... and watch it on TV. My personal advice to you mate.
How did it help Blackpool? Your question.....
The fans wanted to show how pissed off they were and fully express themselves.
Oysten is perhaps a sort of similar more honest version of RD but they are still entirely different people. We are also different clubs in a lot of ways and should not bother looking at examples. I can't say I really give a F*ck about Blackpool but wouldn't particularly wish them any harm either.
Think your on your own on this one mate.

The only reason I have been attending matches this year is to protest. I travel 500 miles round trip. I will be there Sunday and will be buying a pair tickets too. If the match happens to be abandoned in the first 5 minutes then I would be delighted because I believe that it will hasten the end of the regime. If you think this might happen and that it will mean that you have wasted money then save yourself the grief and watch it on tv.paulie8290 said:

Not heard what CARD or any other groups or individuals have planned as they don't release that news until 12.00 am on the day so I'll wait till then before condemning them or calling them "idiots"
As for what a disruption or abandonment might achieve
Pressure on KM
Questioning from the media and other fans and more awareness of the issues
A big fine to damage KMs budget
increased police and stewarding costs at this game and all future games
Embarrassment for KM in front of the media and the Boro directors
More press attention in Belgium
Encouragement to Charlton fans that we can act and don't have to "just accept" what Roland does
Any thing else I've missed.
increased police and stewards and a fine (sorry but people worried about ruining the club surely being in debt has more chance of losing the club)
embarrassment- means nothing to them
press attention in Belgium- who cares we are in England
sorry but none of these are reason why RD would change what he is doing or sell the club
Are you happy with how things are? What do you suggest to change things? Sitting behind your keyboard telling people who may or may not be doing something, fighting to change things at our club, and insulting them because you don't have the nous to grasp why they are, doesn't make you right.
yes its tough, we are not the only club to have had tough times because of an owner, but disrupting a game is senseless, it will achieve nothing8 -

Just remember Blackpool did it against Huddersfield and what happened, the blackpool fans got heavily criticized for it and everyone felt sorry for the Huddersfield fans.
did it change anything at Blackpool-no, did the owner leave afterwards-no.
so honestly what is it going to achieve, probably going to get loads of abuse for this but I honestly don't understand it.

Does it really take so many people to tell off one user @paulie8290 ?
Ok he used the term "idiots" but I believe it was used loosely and colloquially not maliciously. He is one of the nicest people on here and this mass (5 pages) of people telling him he is stupid and what he can and can't say and should or shouldn't spend his money on is terrible.
For the record I do not agree with the pitch invasion either, I believe the whole thing could have long term implications on the club and could still affect us after RD has gone. The other protest ideas, the mock funeral and 74 minute walkout I think are great, not only would it get us positive media attention and look great on sky but it will pull in more sympathisers from other clubs, more people to unite against this diseases vermin regime! A pitch invasion causing a match abandonment, in front of millions of people (sky) will harm our reputation and lose us sympathy. What happens if the FA decides to deduct points off of next season? Our promotion hopes would be up before they even start. Not to mention it won't look particularly good to potential buyers.
But although I don't agree with it I still wish participants good luck and hope everything everyone has planned (within the law) goes swimmingly. Please don't let the vermin make us turn on each other.10 -

How can they dock points? Did they dock blackpool points? That's the precedent surely?
Also, millions of viewers? More like a few hundred thousand.0 -
Sky sports would like to think differently. Also Blackpool and us are 2 different teams, 2 different circumstance and 2 different cases and would therefore but assessed differently. The fact that Blackpool got away lightly so another club followed suit would probably lead to an example being made of us so no one else does it.Stu_of_Kunming said:How can they dock points? As I said I don't agree that it's the best course of action but I wish those partipating luck, we all have the same common enemy and we all are getting through this in our own ways, people have the right to protest and others have the right not to, those that protest (which I am IN favour of and hope more take part) protest in their own way too. I can't stand it that people are calling longstanding fans sympathisers just because they don't want to protest. It's their right. Just as in the selhurst days some chose to boycott all games but some went to them all, different strokes for different folks, some of you can be so intolerant at times.1 - Sponsored links:

Sky won't think differently at all, the viewing figures don't lie. There will not be millions tuning into the game.
That's also not really how precedent works, we won't be docked points.1 -
Sky sports very secretive about the viewing figures. But I remember getting some information when we are in the prem, and I believe we had around 1.4 million for the Blackburn Monday night football game. I think we could reasonably expect between 400,000 and 600,000.0

I don't believe for a minute that a pitch invasion would lose us any sympathy. I've yet to meet anyone whose opinion of Blackpool was dented as a result of them going on the pitch, but I know that there are lots of people who became aware of their plight as a result. Charlton fans do not have a reputation for causing trouble. We are not Millwall, Leeds or Cardiff. If we were like them it might be a different argument. We are Charlton; we are best of breed when it comes to obedient supporters. Season after season you will see fans on pitches in April and May celebrating their teams' promotions. If I've counted correctly we've had three promotions since our return to The Valley and I've yet to see anyone on the Charlton pitch. Sure, there were a few in Carlisle, but the last time I can remember seeing fans on the pitch at Charlton was for that Stoke match. No-one is going to think that it is bad of Charlton fans who are on the rampage age again. People will wonder, what could have been so bad that it's driven them to do it. And that is precisely the reason to do it.12

The promotion hopes for next season? You are joking right? We haven't got a cats hope in hells chance of getting back up, it wouldn't matter if we were deducted points or not, we are going to continue to fall through the leagues.
As for potential buyers, there could be a queue of them, but the utter wanker of an owner we have isn't interested in selling yet - that's why we have to put him in an untenable situation, and if a pitch invasion is part of it, then so be it. Forget the ramifications.
We won't have a football club to support soon if this continues.

I'm sorry Sadie, but this is nonsense. Paulie has been on this board for a long time and he knows how it works. This is an extremely unpleasant time to be a Charlton fan. Things are extremely strained, especially after the MK debacle, and he's started a whole new thread just to tell everyone on Charlton Life that he thinks they're idiots if they ruin his afternoon and to belittle people's protest plans. Frankly I'm amazed people have been as restrained as they have. If Paulie doesn't want to protest then he doesn't have to, but if you go onto a message board full of passionate protesters and call them idiots then you lose the 'different strokes' standpoint I'm afraid.sadiejane1981 said:

Blackpool did it when they were already relegated and on the final day of the season when there was nothing play for, either for Blackpool or their opponents that day Huddersfield who were comfortable in mid-table... Plus being the end of the season there was no where for the match to be re-arranged as the latter were going on their holidays the next dayStu_of_Kunming said:How can they dock points? Middlesbrough are still going for promotion, the Football League could see it as though they've been treated harshly (You've got to remember they are the innocent party here, not Charlton and not the fans), i.e. the match being called off will be re-arranged later in the season causing Middlesbrough fixture congestion0 - Sponsored links:

Hate to say but if we go down to League One, Sky will barely show any matches anyway (which is good because we always lose)... Should we stay up then Sky would surely need to renegotiate the terms with all clubs as they're contracted to show a home game for each team once per season.
On the other front, the cold hard fact is that we are still NOT relegated... Contrary to what many fans say that we're down (How many times have the fans got it right), we can still mathematically survive!!0 -
