The 'This Is The Valley' video showing all the intense Charlton moments from over the years is sorely missed.

    Is it?

It was decent when the Valley was packed but on a cold Tuesday night in a half full stadium, it was awful.

...The 'Valley Floyd Road' singalong is still pants though

There's a problem with that record; it doesn't go too fast and it doesn't skip random words like the fan's version. How can they possibly expect people to sing along with something that was recorded at a regular pace?

We need someone to remix it and add in a shit hot dubstep beat, preferably with a sick drop and a couple of loops too.

Get Chipmunk or Dizzee on the phone

VFR is in three/four time which the drummer can't handle. If the drummer/s could learn the (waltz) time signature then VFR would improve.

This, in a nutshell, is the problem with our club these days.

The start and early part of The Red, Red, Robin has been played at recent home games, but the ending has been ditched, which is to be regretted. I like the trill and staccato ending. Until recently, the start and ending was played, with P.A. announcements during the middle part. Personally, I'd like the song played in its entirety. If that's deemed impractical, then do please play the ending, as was done previously.
Please ditch the recorded version of Valley, Floyd Road. It's far better coming from the terraces.

Sorry, if discussed to death previously...) So, "Into the valley" just came up in my iTunes random mixes, and it is such an amazingly rousing/"chest beating" song. (I'm not Scottish.) So, I am wondering why it was dropped by the club? (See below from Wiki.) How about "Red, Red Robin" for the warm-up and "Into The Valley" before kick-off?

From Wiki.) "Into the Valley" is still used as a theme song for fans of Scottish football team Dunfermline Athletic F.C., the local team of the band, and Charlton Athletic F.C. of the English Football League Championship, whose stadium is aptly named The Valley. It was also used in their premiership years by Bradford City A.F.C., whose stadium is named Valley Parade. It's also played as the teams come out at the Valley Stadium, home of Redditch United F.C.."

Actually, I think you'll find that last season it was dropped for some U2(?) and the season before that the "Come On" song, but this season the second half walk out music is back to being "into the valley".

I personally believe ITV, RRR and London Calling should all be in the pregame music, and I wish the Covered End would stop randomly chanting over RRR as we make our way onto the pitch. Also, someone needs to record a slightly faster version of VFR, OR, everyone needs to stop taking speed before the game. When Southampton or Spurs sing Oh when the Saints/Spurs, they sing it slowly and powerfully, and it has an impact, we just race through VFR as fast as possible.

The sound system is poorly set up at the Valley so far this season. That needs sorting out somehow.
  • I think John Cooper-Clark does a slower version of VFR than the covered end.
