    I'm a big music lover. I have never got the connection between sport and music, I suppose.

    I don't care too much about RRR but fully accept it's important to others. To me, it's not as bad as silly bits of music at T20 cricket when there is a 4 or music when a goal is scored. Or, crashing crescendos before boxing. Or, those ridiculous bits of unconnected action the BBC do set to music, but the general atmosphere, humour and oneness is far more important. If RRR brings oneness to some then ignore old fools like me who are not too fussed and let's keep it.

    Alan Green, as often, got it absolutely right when commentating on Brazil the other week. The recording of their national anthem had been summarily truncated by FIFA - presumably so that the action could start quickly enough for anyone with a two-second attention-span, and so that the adverts could be pumped out even sooner.

    When the recorded music stopped, the fans continued their lusty and defiant singing of the anthem for another half-minute, until it was done. Green applauded this - and reminded us that FIFA had "totally misjudged everything", yet again.

    I don't usually like traditions being lost for the sake of it, but I wouldn't mind losing the song. The biggest gripe I have with it, is that we used to be known as a the Robins and even had a robin on our badge, but we don't anymore, and haven't for many years. Oh, and it is a crap song!

    But the reason we play the red red robin is because we used to be known as the robins. It is an old rubbish song IMO. I appreciate I may be in the minority on this one, but can't help but hate it. I don't care about West Ham or Everton.

    I like the tune but the lyrics should be updated to fit in with the modern sate of the club

    Three problems there, 1 it's not crap, how very dare you! 2 you are missing the point, club songs don't have to have anything to do with the club, if they once had something to do with the club, then it's a damn sight closer than Goodnight Irene or Keep Right On and 3 whether you care about any other club is nothing whatsoever to do with this discussion...

    I love it. An everton mate of mine knows that's charlton song, he even knows the words!
    It's an emotional attachment to my club.

    So much so, that some of our 'rivals' add derogatory lyrics to the end of it.

    I think it is also Swindon's song. Or, at least, I know Oxford fans sing a version of it with derogatory lyrics.

    Billy Cotton and his band recorded a special version for the club it is entirely our song and may be used by other clubs elsewhere, it is our song whether we like it or not and I am now certain that whilst there may be some changes to music played when the game kicks off, not runs out, that RRR is here to stay.

    I used to be firmly in the tradition camp, but now I find its twee fireside gaiety a bit grating.
    You can respect tradition but don't have to be a slave to it.
    Having said that, loads of fans obviously feel passionately about it, so they shouldn't just remove it without consultation or referendum.
    Not specifically to replace RRR, but I personally always loved Into the Valley and often wondered if we could tweak the words a bit to suit us. Now I'd love that to be played just before kick off and the Covered End to continue singing as the tannoy fades

    Lets go the whole hog, have the latest X factor winner write and perform a new song for us every year, that way we will be popular with the kids and Mums, and we can never be accused of being "Old fashioned" or not moving with the times. While we are at it lets get the fashion designer of the year to do our new kit every year, the top grad from the London School of Art to design a new badge and how about surveying the estate agents of London and finding out where the hot properties are and moving the ground every couple of years, you know, just to keep up with the times n that... Within three years we would be the most happening and popular kid in school club in the country...

    On a personal level I have no strong feelings about RRR either way. The fact that far more people are attached to it than not, is good enough for me though.

    The best way to generate a better atmosphere is to play some decent attacking football that involves passing the ball forward, players offering options to the bloke with the ball, runners from midfield and shots on target etc.

    The atmosphere has been flat for a few seasons now, mainly because the football has been sh^t.

    Personally I have always found it utterly embarrassing and limp. But it means so much to so many, they'd have a fight on their hands if they tried to ditch it.

    I'm with Nla, Into The Valley by the skids should be what we come out to.

    Into the Valley is great. Love hearing it at the ground, along with London Calling, wouldn't mind Days by the Kinks. Still wouldn't lose RRR, and does Into the Valley intimidate as some folk think the entry music should be?
