She deals with Competition Law, which relates to regulating anti-competitive conduct by companies. Here in the US it is called Antitrust Law and is essentially relates companies doing actions that give them an unfair advantage over competition.
So she's more than likely here to make sure that Rolands network remains in compliance with British, EU, FA, UEFA and FIFA rules and regulations

You really have bought into RD and his take over haven't you AA?
Not saying that I haven't but happy to wait and see how things develop. Some good and some strange things so far.1 -
I'd buy her a pie at half time!

Have been thoroughly underwhelmed by her actions of late, awash with mixed messages and seems to have no clue. Truly is Roland's puppet.0

The 'female approach' worked for Gold and Sullivan with Karen Brady (sorry Baroness Brady) at Brum and the 'Ammers .. it seems to be working with Katrien Miere at CAFC .. many the man who has been fooled and beguiled by the charms of a sweet looking woman .. What chance of her landing a gig wiv Lawd Sugah ?1

yes definitely......

All PR Statements are full of fluff, none of them really tell the truth but just a sanitised version.0

The problem is that she's saying one thing and two seconds later being told to do something completely different. It makes her look like she's completely out of the loop. And I can't imagine it's good for business for an owner to undermine his CEO publicly.ricky_otto said:

She won't be here in 12 months time. Rotated to somewhere else in the network.0

I felt a bit sorry for her.
She puts out a PR statement trying to lift people and steady the ship and the next day she is made to look silly by Bob being sacked.
Now, it could be that BP was going anyway, she knew and she just lied.
I think it more likely that she either didn't know that was the plan or the decision was made suddenly after Brighton and so events catch up with her. I don't know which.
Welcome to the world of management Katrien. Sometimes your role is to be the flack catcher. You won't be the first Charlton CEO to be left out to dry like this and I doubt you will be the last.
My only hope is that this incident doesn't put you off communicating more often and in more detail. The more times you get it right the less people will comment on the times you don't.22 -

Right, but she must have known yesterday, not even 24-hours ago, that Luzon was going to be approached by the club today, the club she is the CEO of, and still went ahead and released that statement. Surely no one believes she had no idea Luzon would be contacted by Charlton today?Henry Irving said:I felt a bit sorry for her.

True - but what we don't know is how many others have been contacted by the club today? Hopefully they aren't lying and there will be a decent selction process and the new manager won't be rushed in and if its Luzon - its as much about being 'fit and proper' for the job as it is about being a 'network man'. RD has only bought into all of this to make money - he might not have much passion for the club but he seems to have a passion for business - so he will want to get it right for business reasons. The Red Robin said:

I think this is true. Roly is making her look like an idiot in my opinion. The comments from the program coupled with the sacking of Bob, then the statement from the Club yesterday and the recent info that Luzon is in town for talks seems to show that whilst she is making all the right noises from a fans point of view, she is being completely undermined by decisions from Duchatelet.Henry Irving said:I felt a bit sorry for her.

Of course it's also possible that Roly asked Meire to merely interview Luzon and other potential candidates will be seen in the coming days/weeks/months. I wonder though who actually gets the final say here, Meire or Duchatelet? It wouldn't surprise me if they decide to see some more potential candidates in the near future knowing that Luzon will get the job anyway, but think they have to see others to pay lip service to the disgruntled fan base. I'm of the opinion it's a done deal and in time, Luzon will be announced as the new man.0 -
There is plenty of very admirable stuff in Miere's CV that make her suitable for the role that RD has outlined for her.
It may be that there are some other areas of enterprise within a football club that others would be more suited to, and it is beholden for RD to either address those areas or not bother.0 -
Out of her depth. So obviously a front for Duchalet it is painful. All the wear red stuff was an example ... Charlton are a football club not a infant schoolseth plum said:There is plenty of very admirable stuff in Miere's CV that make her suitable for the role that RD has outlined for her.

She won't be the first or last club CEO/Chairperson/Owner to say one thing about a manager on day one and do the opposite on day two. In fact that behaviour seems more like normal practice these days.
Personally, I believe Luzon was contacted last week when the rumours first broke on that Israeli website so I think it is a lie, or at least a bending of the truth, to say that Bob's continued employment hadn't been under consideration before the Brighton result. I wonder how early these programme articles are written in order to meet printing deadlines- could it have pre-dated the Luzon rumours breaking? I've lost track of timelines here.
Regardless, it is entirely possible that there had been an intention to give Bob more than one more game to turn it around but things can change very quickly in football.
Was the performance vs Brighton so bad it changed their mind?
Was there another dressing room bust up that they felt Bob mishandled or even a senior players revolt/ultimatum?
Did Roly call Bob directly for a chat and they had a row and Bob got the boot on the spot?
Or did they have a chat and come to a more amicable agreement that it wasn't working out (unlikely as it hasn't been described as 'mutual consent')?
It's also entirely possible that Roland told Katriene one thing and then did something different himself. This would be concerning if he's not even being straight with his own senior management, but in the absence of facts or reliable sources to the contrary we can't rule anything out.
As usual though, the situation is not as black and white as most message board dwelling football fans would like it to be. I'm not personally inclined to give KM a hard time over this as anyone who has worked in middle management will know that from time to time you may find yourself in a situation where you tell employees or clients one thing in good faith, only to have to back track because your bosses change their mind or tell you something you hadn't previously known. She is yet another inexperienced person of potential at the club in a role that is fairly new to her and, like anyone else learning on the job, mistakes will happen. Lets hope she learns from it and it doesn't become a habit.
