Sam Smith is a bit of a bellend, but he's a really good League One striker.
I wish he was our bellend though  :)

Worst I have seen us play for a long time.  Didn't trouble their keeper once and passing all over the place.

I can only assume our players were fearful of their  wall of sound 🤣.

Ultimately, whilst our owners were shedding players and cutting costs in January they spent £2M on Smith who has got them over the line.

First time on Valley Express for a few years and that just topped off the rubbish day. Left at 10am, back at 1am, stops som short you could get food, toilet that didn't work and then blocked. Just all pony.

I’m more concerned the injuries are going to hurt us in the play offs now.
  • Sadly well beaten, Watson not good enough and did Kanu or Mbick touch the ball.? Small and Berry such a big miss. Wrexham spent well in January we didn't simple as that. Their owners much better than ours. Did we win a ball in the air against their defence? No Chuks or Leeburn the red is shining (in the words of the late great Jimmy Seed).

Awful performance. Totally bottled it after the first went in, and that defending from the corner was appalling.

Anderson dreadful, TC anonymous and the subs showed just how little depth we've got. Lloyd Jones looked clearly injured so if he's out with Berry and Small then I don't have much faith in us getting through the playoffs.

TC was effectively anonymous today. Never had a meaningful foray forward.

Just shows how far off this team is from the championship….. would go straight back down
Nothing like a good overreaction after one defeat.
Not an overreaction mate we have a few good league one players who would struggle in the championship

I'm not buying into the 'whole rising against the odds' narrative here for Wrexham.  Spent loads of money and bought the best players, not exactly a surprise.
Don't like the taffs, but spending money wisely on top of a well run club shows what you need to do to have a fighting chance of success.
A shame we have stumbled along for too many years.

Hopefully just a bad day at the office but our lack of options up front is concerning.

With hindsight we were always going to be brides maids at this celebration. Two key players short and wearing that dull kit - we were up against it from the start. They got the perfect first 20 minutes (as we did on Easter Monday) and that was basically game over.

They have some very good League 1 standard players (with a dash of Premier fall over and win free kicks experience). It's true to say that the two clubs who have spent the money have gone up in the automatic places.

Nathan Jones has worked so well to fashion a solid and efficient side but when we have injuries it hurts us and our bench looks very threadbare. Pray that
L Jones is ok, and Berry and Small come back strong for the play offs.

We focus on the Play-Offs and go again...

Wasn't much difference between the sides, we got done by the movement of Sam Smith over a couple of minutes, gave them a massive amount to protect, and gave us a mountain to climb!!
Personally thought there was quite a gulf in ability at times. Little things.

Piss poor, and such a let down!

performance was bereft of any idea, spark or energy. Midfield lost out once again, and we were being pulled w like puppets from the start. We never seemed up for it, nor did we try and impose ourself on the game.

small and berry were big loses, and don’t blame NJones for trying LJones but it didn’t really work with him clearly being cautious. Anderson in the middle played like a competition winner being thrown in.

Huge gulf in ability between the two sides, today and across the season really - for our Andy Scott summer window left us brutally lacking any experience or solid depth- then January you’d hope to go out and make a statement as Wrexham did but we didn’t!

Really fear for us going into the playoffs, a lot of expectation and hype for a team that doesnt seem it can play the big/important games or pressure too well. We look fragile, and injuries coming thick and fast

Our squad looked tired today, as though the last 20 odd games had finally caught up with us.
It'll be sensible to rest who we can next Saturday BUT, we still want to finish the league with a flourish and a win. We also want to ensure that we get to play the 2nd leg of the playoffs at home.
We need to realise where we were in Dec, and where we got to.
Yes, we have to go again, and we can do it, Wrexham have just won 3 back to back promotions, we can win  3 Wembley promotions!!

Slipping all over the place was embarrassing….looked like we were playing on ice
I've never seen so many players from one side only keep slipping over throughout the game. Unfathomable.

We played a side that knows how to defend, without two of our best attacking outlets.

I'm not overly down on this loss, with a makeshift 11 for the last 30 minutes. What did annoy me was the errors for their first 2.

My worry is fitness. Our first 11 is the best in the top 6. Outside of that we have Lower League One/League Two Quality.

Rest most of them next week. We cannot risk further injuries.
What on earth is that comment based on? "the best"? At what?

The Wycombe game on Monday was a big game and we seemed to manage that ok. I think today was a reflection of our lack of squad depth, with Jones not fully fit and Small and Berry missing. If they come back in two weeks we will do ok in the playoffs.

Wrexham didn't let us play. They bullied us for the first twenty minutes. Had they not scored two in that time, would they have been able to keep up that intensity? I don't know, but although we had plenty of possession in the second half, we never looked particularly threatening.

Too many square pegs in round holes. Finished with four strikers, two DMs and left footed Gilbert seemingly RWB, although pub did switch to boxing when 3rd went in so can't be sure. We all know MG cant play in the middle of a three, why doesn't NJ?

PWR - Awful day at the office but our whole run has been a case of defeat followed by six unbeaten. Hoping Small and Berry are back by the first leg for what looks likely to be Wycombe which I would have taken all day!

A comfortable win for Wrexham, they did to us what we did to Wycombe on Monday.

We looked toothless up front, no attacking ideas other than hitting it into areas, and hoping for the best. And yes Ahadme has been really disappointing, but Mbick looked like who he is, an 18 year old kid.

Combine that with an unfit Jones, and it was an easy game for Wrexham.

The good news is that a Stockport win next Saturday will mean two legs against Wycombe, the weakest of the playoff teams.

What's the danger that both Wycombe and Stockport will decide to play for the draw to secure that home second leg? Or will they both go for the win in hopes of avoiding a particular team in the semi final?
The way Wycombe are playing atm I dont think they can even draw a game !

We have to win next Sat otherwise we will end up 5th and if so will most likely play Wycombe.

We are 20 points behind Birmingham btw.

You'd have an argument saying 2nd best.

Yes a lot of them are glory boys, but there was great atmosphere from the home fans today. Grudging respect for "taking back" the football in a circus chant.

If we have our first 11 out we’re a formidable side.
Don’t lose heart. There’s still a big finish to come for us I think.
