All this GK talk must make AMB feel really great...🙄
That’s football, it’s a dog eat dog world
Had AMB down on the outs list anyway. Think he can still go on to have a good EFL career but he's just not champ standard.
    May be one for Jacko?
AFCW did lose Owen Goodman their Palace loanee keeper that got them up. AMB could be a good idea actually.

Thank god for that... He's already been part of one relegation from the Championship, he's probably the Goalkeeper version of Nigel Quashie, didnt want him anyway (sob!)

In fairness it’s exactly what happened with every GK we were linked with last summer.

Also can we stop signing players from Luton please? They have the worst football forum set up in the 92, makes it very difficult for a snooping opposition fan.

It is shocking . Stevenage has the same ( or did ) type of forum .
It pretty much sums up the place . An absolute mess

What the hell has happened to this thread in the last two days?
    Completely ruined by genuine rumours.
But now we’ve been linked with a GK, we can go back to debating whether Mannion is good enough, deserves his chance, must not be dropped and fish puns.
Whoever we bring in Mannion deserves to start as number one .. he was excellent last season and his handling in the final at vital nervous times was top drawer

Mannion isn't starting over a 31yr old Belgian international who was basically ever present in the Prem for Luton 18 months ago. Kaminski is coming in to be No1

Seems I’ve taken some some stick for suggesting that Olaofe is a bit of a punt. That’s fair enough. It’s a football forum. For those of you that have said I’ve written him off. Why exactly is saying in my opinion he’s a bit of a punt, writing him off. He could be great and hope he is. My main point was that I’m hoping that we are also in the hunt for more experienced Championship players with a good track record at that level. I agree that top league one is where we’ll find most gems but I’m also hoping for a bit more.
Millwall just spent £5mill on a striker who was injured for a fair chunk of the season and scored about 5 goals... Would hate to think what wages he'll be on too...

The 5 years we've been away from the Championship has meant the goal posts have been moved even further away without factoring in the destruction caused by the successive ownership groups/crooks/charlatans/egos inflicted on us since our L1 championship season.

Pretty much damned if we do, damned if we don't - go for an 'ageing Champ experienced player and they're only here for a last payday', lack of ambition from the board and we have no money for a younger player. Go for top end L1 players who 'have no Championship experience', lack of ambition from the board AND we have no money. Go for decent solid free transfers and 'they must be crap because their old club OBVIOUSLY doesn't want them and lack of ambition/no money from the board.'

Then we have our weird fascination with ex-players who "could do a job" when they left us with because they couldn't do a job or didn't want to stay with us anyway. Also been talking about a couple of ex-players who have played for the last few seasons in the Championship and have the experience we're possibly lacking and crying out for, but we don't want them because there's definitely zero way they might've progressed from the players they were previously in the intervening years.

Damned if we do, damned if we don't!!

It won’t surprise me if 4-6 new signings start for us on the first day of the season with Mannion and other important players last season sitting on the bench.

Improving our starting XI is a must, and it’ll take more than 1 or 2 signings.

NJ was quite clear on Sky on Thursday that he has no room for sentiment. Kaminski is a massive upgrade on Mannion and if it turns out opening day that it's only Ramsay,Jones,Edwards, Coventry from the starting XI at Wembley it wouldn't surprise me.

I don’t believe we need him to get 20 goals. 20 goal strikers are like rocking horse shit, plus they usually belong to a top 6 side. I think we need him, like others have said, to play a role well and give us something different.
He is more of a wide player, he does everything TC doesn’t, takes on and beats defenders, gets to the line and gets a cross in
Saying TC doesn’t take on and beat defenders is silly the one thing he’s best at. Oloafe does add some balance up top though have Leaburn as a proper big striker, Godden as a poacher, TC as the pacer forward and Oloafe to add an all round game based on what the game requires. We may not have elite strike force but we would be prepared to challenge all types of defences whether that’s a high line, low block pace, quicker or bigger defenders
I would have to disagree, I am not saying he never beats defenders, merely pointing out that he doesn’t do it on a regular basis.
i totally disagree - the thing he does do is regularly beat defenders - its his finishing and general end product that maybe needs to improve and is improving

    Here you go mate...

Bloke in Sainsbury's told me he has just come back from a week in Madeira and spoke to Ronaldo's old Geography teacher who told him his considering turning down his £650k a day contract in Saudi for a squad role at The Valley because it's easy to get to the O2 and Ikea.

Not gospel but stranger things have happened.  Would be good as he could be this year's Danny Hylton and bring on the young lads like TC etc.

    We will see.

i haven't spoken to one millwall fan who doesn't think they have been well and truly mugged for £5m on that signing - apart from the money, none of them rate the player
