So who is the CB/FB/WB from Luton with a decent assist record?
    Alfie Doughty? 🤞

Unless, I’m reading that completely wrong, we’re  paying €1m for a goalkeeper that Antalyaspor were getting for nothing?

Definitely not a CB of any description.

Luton’s player of the season when they were in the prem a few seasons back. What’s not to like?

Recce Burke does have a lot of higher level experience….which bodes well.

Another localish lad too being born just the other side of the river in Newham.

He played CB for Crayford Arrows when he was 14 😉

    Reece Burke isn’t a wingback - he’s a CB only.

Mengi is surely way out of our price range - he did ok in the prem.

Bell to me seems the only fit but it’s a good point about not having to negotiate with Luton.

What the hell has happened to this thread in the last two days?
    Completely ruined by genuine rumours.
But now we’ve been linked with a GK, we can go back to debating whether Mannion is good enough, deserves his chance, must not be dropped and fish puns.
  • Would be pleased with Kaminski and Mannion as backup.

He has been used as a full back before. General consensus from Luton fans is that he can’t stay fit for long. So not one id really want us to sign.

I’d much rather it be Bell.

Bell has played on the left of a 3 as well as center half

Agree. If those two are back-up, who do you want as the first choice keeper?

Kaminski is a decent signing, definitely a keeper.

Did Kaminski play under Jones before
No, but Luton did sign him when Phil Chapple was their Head of Scouting Operations.

Yeah which I think makes more sense than Burke or Mengi. An older player to add experience, competition for both Gillesphey and Edwards - I’m not convinced we’ll sign a LCB and a LWB, as I doubt NJ will completely change from wanting a small squad to a much bigger one. He even mentioned the academy in that Sky Sports interview the other day without being asked about it.

I don’t believe we need him to get 20 goals. 20 goal strikers are like rocking horse shit, plus they usually belong to a top 6 side. I think we need him, like others have said, to play a role well and give us something different.
He is more of a wide player, he does everything TC doesn’t, takes on and beats defenders, gets to the line and gets a cross in
Saying TC doesn’t take on and beat defenders is silly the one thing he’s best at. Oloafe does add some balance up top though have Leaburn as a proper big striker, Godden as a poacher, TC as the pacer forward and Oloafe to add an all round game based on what the game requires. We may not have elite strike force but we would be prepared to challenge all types of defences whether that’s a high line, low block pace, quicker or bigger defenders
I would have to disagree, I am not saying he never beats defenders, merely pointing out that he doesn’t do it on a regular basis.

I think he was injured towards the end of the season. He still had that burst when he was dribbling at defenders from a standing start but his long speed didn't look right.

Had AMB down on the outs list anyway. Think he can still go on to have a good EFL career but he's just not champ standard.

Mengi has a great heritage, played through all the age groups for England
And graduated at Man Utd academy

Transfermarkt has him rated at £5.5m 😳

Transfermarkt valuations are incredibly unreliable, Doc is valued at €1m, while Ramsay and Jones are valued at €200k. Go beneath the PL and it’s complete fabrication
