Confused by Rich's posts. Would Millwall still have a sell on clause in place after hes joined us?
I think they would but only on the portion that Stockport would have put on it.So if County had 25% then any future Spanner profit would only be part of that.

Iirc many years ago we had a similar sell on for Michael Turner. We received money from Hull after he moved there from Brentford and a smaller amount when he moved to Sunderland

Olaofe is exactly the sort of striker we should be going for, would be very pleased if we get him.

Have to trust Jones but from what little I know about Olaofe he doesn’t look to me as if his game is ever going to make him a 1 in 3 striker particularly now he’s moved up a division. That’s not a criticism of him because it’s obvious that his strengths are not all about being the player getting on the end of things. I see him as a bigger, stronger TC. Of course the more goals the merrier but I’m thinking 10 goals would be a good return. I’ve always thought that every team needs a 20 goals  season striker and imho I don’t think we have one. Godden will sniff out goals but he’s now back amongst better defenders and he’s not getting any younger. Regardless I think it’s a decent signing because his attributes certainly fit in with what NJ wants.
Could he be the back up for TC though or even play in the Small role?
Thierry was left footed playing right.
I’d be staggered if we are signing back up players . Anyone coming in has to improve the 11.

Yeah I meant more that he could play that role if TC is injured. Could see him being a replacement for Small.
    IO is right footed.

Fair.  I have more faith in the current recruitment setup so let’s see how good he is .  I don’t mind a non scoring striker if they do a lot off the ball to make space for others .

If Olafe can play the #10 role too gives us a few options in there with Berry, Carey & Olafe depending on what we need/who's available for a game

I don’t believe we need him to get 20 goals. 20 goal strikers are like rocking horse shit, plus they usually belong to a top 6 side. I think we need him, like others have said, to play a role well and give us something different.
He is more of a wide player, he does everything TC doesn’t, takes on and beats defenders, gets to the line and gets a cross in
Exactly,  and if he gave Ramsay problems he must be pretty decent.

No way he plays in the Small RWB role. If we persist with that system it will need to be converting a wingback into being more attacking, not converting an attacker into a wingback. We will need our defence to be very solid next season and playing strikers at wingback won’t do that

I agree but the RWB will have to be good going forward as the midfield , at this stage, lacks creativity .

Think it's going to be about a couple of strikers in double figures as opposed to signing the mythical 20+ man. Don't think Tanto will be the only striker we bring in too.
I hope this is the case. I see Tanto as more of a winger to complement / support TC and not as a main front man.

Yeah I think you're bang on the money , TC needs reliable competition that isn't an unproven Dixon.

Would expect competition for Godden too , I'm not ready to put many expectation on Miles with his injury record

This is why Galbraith is everything we need, can slot into midfield when we go to a 4, and offer a threat as a wing back. If the budget rumours are true I’d do anything we can to get him over the line.

Weirdly I can't find one for his Stockport goals. Given he hit 20 in League 2 I would have expected one

Can only find Sutton from 5 years ago which I don't think is a fair comp.

Saying TC doesn’t take on and beat defenders is silly the one thing he’s best at. Oloafe does add some balance up top though have Leaburn as a proper big striker, Godden as a poacher, TC as the pacer forward and Oloafe to add an all round game based on what the game requires. We may not have elite strike force but we would be prepared to challenge all types of defences whether that’s a high line, low block pace, quicker or bigger defenders

I think the Olaofe signing probably solidifies Dan Kanu will get a loan deal somewhere in League 1 too.

Maybe Hylton can give Olaofe the coaching to make him a real handful in the championship.

Talking of which. Does anyone have any updates on Miles ? I’d have thought he’s been doing some stuff over the closed season and it would be a huge plus if he’s available to start a full pre season.

Got the impression that although his injury was a season ended it wouldn’t get in the way of pre season. That’s just a hunch reading between the lines of how it was spoken about and seeing him during the celebrations at Wembley

Surely Asiimwe would be perfect for them
