Confused by Rich's posts. Would Millwall still have a sell on clause in place after hes joined us?
    No
  • I’m certain I heard pre play offs (from within the club) we have 4 decent signings lined up for whatever league we are in , so maybe July 1st they’ll all come flying in the door
Not only does the transfer slam shut, but when it opens, they come flying through the door.

I don’t believe we need him to get 20 goals. 20 goal strikers are like rocking horse shit, plus they usually belong to a top 6 side. I think we need him, like others have said, to play a role well and give us something different.
He is more of a wide player, he does everything TC doesn’t, takes on and beats defenders, gets to the line and gets a cross in
Saying TC doesn’t take on and beat defenders is silly the one thing he’s best at. Oloafe does add some balance up top though have Leaburn as a proper big striker, Godden as a poacher, TC as the pacer forward and Oloafe to add an all round game based on what the game requires. We may not have elite strike force but we would be prepared to challenge all types of defences whether that’s a high line, low block pace, quicker or bigger defenders
I would have to disagree, I am not saying he never beats defenders, merely pointing out that he doesn’t do it on a regular basis.

Wonder if Jacko might be in contact for a couple of loans off us?
Surely Asiimwe would be perfect for them
DK and Asiimwe would be excellent. They've lost quite a few players in those positions.

We need to bring in more than just Olafe up top. Coventry let Godden go because they didn’t think he was up to the championship last season. We still need someone like DKD to come in to compete with Matty & complete the forward line.

Not sure Coventry necessarily let Godden go because he wasn’t good enough for the Championship but rather that he wasn’t good enough for the top of the Championship. He’ll be fine in the bottom half as long he we have someone able to replace him after 60 minutes

I think the Olaofe signing probably solidifies Dan Kanu will get a loan deal somewhere in League 1 too.

In my opinion, Daniel Kanu isn’t cut out for League One — he’s quick enough to catch a bus, but his technical ability couldn’t trap it once he got there, and I doubt that’s something he’ll suddenly master overnight. It’s a shame, because he’s a good lad, but the Championship and league 1 are miles beyond his abilities.

Pleased if this signing goes through sure they have done their homework and I have faith in this recruitment process
As for the complaints about him not being prolific he may improve under our coaching and don’t forget big Carl was never prolific but what he added to the team was immense

So who is the CB/FB/WB from Luton with a decent assist record?

Kaminski would be a top signing and exactly what we need for the next couple seasons.

As excited by that as you can be by a GK signing!

I mentioned him yesterday after Pavs post more out of hope than expectation. Belgian international, bags of experience don't think we could do much better for a No1

Not doubting you but he’s never had more than 5 assists in a season and Pav made it seem like he’d had one good season of assists. I’d still be happy with him though

Pretty much works as backup for both Gillesphey and Edwards if they're starting, so Bell would be good as the Watson replacement who can cover a few roles. He's also a Jamaican international, so already knows Anderson, Campbell and Dixon.

Olaofe on the other hand is the Aneke upgrade.

Just one way of looking at the new signings as they come in.

I think it’s Reece Burke. 4 assist in the prem season with Luton.

Amari Bell is leaving Luton at the end of his contract, so we wouldn’t be in negotiation with Luton if that was the case.

From what I can see Teden Mengi and Reece Burke fit the description as CBs who can play RB and have Champ and PL experience.

Amari Bell. Ex Luton and a Jamaica international so it’s guaranteed.

Luton’s B team now a division above Luton

Mengi has a great heritage, played through all the age groups for England

Quick look on X, Mengi apparently has a bad attitude and a Hull fans comment suggests Burke spends a lot of time out injured.
