Had a few beers now and well excited about this goalkeeper talk Belgium international then I googled him and has 1 cap  the goalkeeping equivalent of Patrick bamford :) admittedly  I haven't seen much of Luton tbh but he must be decent so sounds promising.

Tanto, Kaminski, Burke and Carey would be an excellent start to business. Forward, GK, defender and midfielder.

    Completely ruined by genuine rumours.
    Here you go mate...

Bloke in Sainsbury's told me he has just come back from a week in Madeira and spoke to Ronaldo's old Geography teacher who told him his considering turning down his £650k a day contract in Saudi for a squad role at The Valley because it's easy to get to the O2 and Ikea.

Not gospel but stranger things have happened.  Would be good as he could be this year's Danny Hylton and bring on the young lads like TC etc.

    We will see.

Funny you say that, because I was in Greggs the other day (Charlton one, not the posh Greenwich one) and got chatting to a bloke who reckons his cousin does the electrics at Heathrow Terminal 5. Swears blind he saw Messi queuing at Pret with Meal Deal in hand, asking someone if the Jubilee line goes direct to North Greenwich.

Now, I’m not saying it’s happening, but I am saying he’s got a nephew doing an exchange year in Bexleyheath and it’s just a 486 bus away.

    We will see.

But now we’ve been linked with a GK, we can go back to debating whether Mannion is good enough, deserves his chance, must not be dropped and fish puns.
Whoever we bring in Mannion deserves to start as number one .. he was excellent last season and his handling in the final at vital nervous times was top drawer

    Behave 😂

Luton would be excellent if it was Thomas Kaminski as the keeper , bags of championship experience with Blackburn and Luton and Prem experience with Luton too. Just can't figure out the CB bit from their squad. There's no one there that fits Pavs description, plenty of good solid CBs but no one that I'd count as being able to play RWB

Shame Mads Andersen has been injury plagued with them , wouldn't have minded him as a CB option - bags of championship experience and was outstanding for Barnsley when they were good under Stendel and Struber.
Luton had that LCB/LB who plays for Jamaica... Think he might be on a free...
    Hm, rings A Bell…

Seems I’ve taken some some stick for suggesting that Olaofe is a bit of a punt. That’s fair enough. It’s a football forum. For those of you that have said I’ve written him off. Why exactly is saying in my opinion he’s a bit of a punt, writing him off. He could be great and hope he is. My main point was that I’m hoping that we are also in the hunt for more experienced Championship players with a good track record at that level. I agree that top league one is where we’ll find most gems but I’m also hoping for a bit more.
Millwall just spent £5mill on a striker who was injured for a fair chunk of the season and scired about 5 goals... Would hate to think what wages he'll be on too...

The 5 years we've been away from the Championship has meant the goal posts have been moved even further away without factoring in the destruction caused by the successive ownership groups/crooks/charlatans/egos inflicted on us since our L1 championship season.

Pretty much damned if we do, damned if we don't - go for an 'ageing Champ experienced player and they're only here for a last payday', lack of ambition from the board. Go for top end L1 players who 'have no Championship experience', lack of ambition from the board AND we have no money. Go for decent solid free transfers and 'they must be crap because their old club OBVIOUSLY doesn't want them and lack of ambition/no money from the board.'

Then we have our weird fascination with ex-players who "could do a job" when they left us with because they couldn't do a job or didn't want to stay with us anyway. Also been talking about a couple of ex-players who have played for the last few seasons in the Championship and have the experience we're possibly lacking and crying out for, but we don't want them because there's definitely zero way they might've progressed from the players they were previously in the intervening years.

Damned if we do, damned if we don't!!
i haven't spoken to one millwall fan who doesn't think they have been well and truly mugged for £5m on that signing - apart from the money, none of them rate the player
But it’s no where near 5 million. Initial outlay will be about half that. It only becomes 5 million if he fulfills all the add ons. And if that happens then 5 mill will be seen as a good deal.

I’m not sure how many Millwall fans you know but most of the ones I’ve spoken to are happy with the deal. The goals per game ratio doesn’t look great on paper but if you actually watch him play you’ll see he brings so much more to the game than that. Still only young at 22 and will hopefully fill out a bit he could go on to be a great signing. We’ll see.

That argument doesn’t work with our fanbase. You can find Charlton fans saying we paid £1m for Ahadme all over the internet.

If we bring in Kaminski, everyone will know he's been brought in to be first choice.

Jones won't publicly admit it of course, and he'll probably say something like "the number 1 jersey is up for grabs", and both will get minutes in pre-season, but you can bet your life that Kaminski will be in goal for the Watford game, and Mannion will probably play v Stevenage in the cup.

You don’t get near the Belgian team without having to be very good. If it’s him we sign then it’s a great signing.

Mannion isn't starting over a 31yr old Belgian international who was basically ever present in the Prem for Luton 18 months ago. Kaminski is coming in to be No1
I wouldn’t over egg the International bit.

No inside info but we were interested and he hasn't moved elsewhere as yet.

He and his agent, along with Orient, may well be waiting for a better offer but until that happens we have a chance.

I do hope so but I have a suspicion he’ll run his contract down and give himself many more options this time next year.

Big risk, no guarantees he or Orient have as good a season again

I totally agree with 995632. We should re-sign loads of former players who can do a job.

    Bring back Harry Pell!
