This is getting silly now. I hope someone at the club has a word with Small. Not sure what went wrong before (but potentially his head was turned by a bigger club) but I now have a funny feeling even the Madrid talk when at Everton could of very well been his agent pushing for a move or a new contract.
I could be wrong and it’s Small wanting to move too but this seems too much being pushed out by the media and hopefully someone at the club could put an arm around him and discuss these antics by the agent…

Forgive my ignorance if i got this wrong...but do we have to wait a month to start hearing about incomings? I don't remember this gap last year. 'Ef all happening on here at the moment....
It’s a pointless date. We can sign a player now but can’t play them until the window opens. But, we have no games until august

Tom Pearce would be ok but I’m worried we might also end up with Bill Brewer, Jan Stewer, Peter Gurney, Peter Davy, Daniel, Whiddon, Harry Hawke as well. And as for Tom Cobbly, his legs have gone.
So when are our multi billionaire owners going to dip a toe in the transfer market?. No point owning it if not willing to push on. Clearly don't need to advertise funds available and be a bit clever in our dealings but we do need to be putting a squad together for pre season to get out of this poxy league for all our sakes.

If I remember correctly, Mendonca was an example of an early summer signing because he wanted his future settled before him and his family went on their summer holidays.
Doesn’t sound like Harris is desperate to keep him. They’ve already had a bid accepted for another centre back from Spurs. Big part of Lincoln’s defensive record last season. Loved at most clubs he’s been at. Young and will continue to grow and improve. We already have his brother at the club. Can’t think of a reason to not try bringing him in.
Given the season hasn't even finished fully yet I doubt we will hear anything concrete for the next couple of weeks.
The priority for me would be getting the back line sorted inc goalkeeper before the preseason tour. Would be nice if they didn't look like a bunch of strangers on opening day.

He not leaving .. it’s all rubbish and lazy journalism, we activated the one year option so we can slap a big price on him
What...that doesn't stop the chance of him being sold, everyone has their price, the one solid hope we have is Nathan getting him to sign an extension, nothing to do with "lazy journalism" as you so quaintly put it!!

He not leaving .. it’s all rubbish and lazy journalism, we activated the one year option so we can slap a big price on him
That might well be true but if the club are convinced that he won’t sign an extension beyond the one year deal then it would be good business to sell him for as much as possible as long as that sale included a season loan. That all supposes that he’ll be off for nothing in one year which I suspect is his preferred option.

Was a question not a moan, need to be out of the blocks super quick to bring on board the right players. We have history of fishing about at the end of the window which time after time we all know has not gone that well.
The problem is a lot of the better players available will wait to see if they can get Championship gigs before signing for League 1.
