Friday was a shit day. One of our cats, Dexter, was breathing hard for no apparent reason. Took him to vets and they found fluid on his heart and lungs. They drained that but found a tumour in his chest. He's back home with us for now but the fluid will return at some stage and at that point he's probably going to have to be put to sleep. Making the most of our remaining time with him but dreading the day we have to make that decision.

I am sorry to hear about that Rizzo.
The only comfort you can take is you gave your cat a lovely life, and were there for them all along.
Best wishes.2 -

Sorry to hear that Rizzo. You probably already have some great memories, now's the time to make some more.

Sadly our Granddaughter Millie often seen with our dogs lost her own dog this morning.
Diagnosed with a brain tumour and at 15 she had a fantastic life but the decision was made it was her time.
Millie while accustomed to dogs and their departing with our three leaving us in the space of two years, this dog was there daily so I don’t envy her parents when she finishes school later today.Run to the Bridge Lola, our guys will take care of you x1 -

She often talks about the dogs we’ve lost both to us and children at school about her part in Bow’s training. She’s a tough girl but four dogs in two years for one so young. 😢0 -

Never mind kids, losing animals as a fully formed (apparently) adult is awful. I’ve never been able to keep my composure with loss of pets. I held myself together better with the loss of a parent better than I did when we last had to put one of our animals sleep0

Well according to Ava-Mae, Lilly came and and sat with her as soon as she came home from school and didn't move. She allowed Ava-Mae to stroke her and was purring contently. Massive progress.
Not sure she would have sat there like that if Anastasia wasn't at nursery. She disappeared behind the sofa sharpish after her arrival tonight.
Mrs JB said she wasnt able to give her the pain meds because she was behind the sofa. She looks flat out now we've managed to get the tablets down her. Poor little sod!6 -
It’s back to work for these two 😂

Sat with a young girl today who had become nervous around dogs after being bitten while on last weeks half term break.
She has a wound stitched half way up her forearm which in her words was done by a small dog on a very long lead (extending?)
She simply walked through the gate to get in her parents car after visiting relatives.
She wanted to sit with Valli purely to regain her self confidence, she sat stroking Valli as she spoke of the experience and at seven years old appeared very sure that she didn’t want it to affect her long term as she loves dogs.I’ll bring her out of class every visit until she’s comfortable and decides otherwise and have the schools full support in doing so.It’s why we do what we do.9 -
My daughter is scared of dogs for no apparent reason. She's never had any bad experience with them but she makes us cross the road if there's one on the pavement and she's a nervous wreck in parks.0

She's never had any bad experience with them but she makes us cross the road if there's one on the pavement and she's a nervous wreck in parks. This is one child and parent we helped that were kind enough to share their experience.Hysterical when she entered the school gates, she soon calmed and stroked Bailey 50 minutes later, she returned later that month and met Valli along with Bailey.Obviously Bailey is no longer here, but Valli is more than a suitable replacement. It’s a very controlled introduction and would take me hours the type the process but it’s all played out on the day as to the child’s reaction, first the dog is in the car visable through the windows, then behind internal school gates, then in the field with dog on the lead, then second lead attached to dog for child to hold and we go on from there.Your decision but I’m more than willing to help.7

Lilly hasn't been herself since her op. We wasnt sure if it was the discomfort or being separated from her kittens.
The vet said we had to keep them separate for 10 days. Absolute nightmare as we've had to keep the kittens upstairs in the guest room bathroom since Friday night. They've been really unhappy.
Anyway, long story short, Mrs D was impatient. She had to get the collar off somehow, so she bought Lilly one of these...
Like WTF Mummy, what have you done to me?! the shame of wearing a vest! It completely covers her bare patch and scar, so she can't lick it and neither can the kittens. After wearing it for a day, she wasn't used to it, she was sort of moon walking in embarrassment... took a couple of steps, laid down and repeat...
I came down for a cuppa at 6:30 before heading to London and she jumped in my lap!
That has never happened before!
Mrs D brought the kittens down soon after and they all went loopy with excitement! It appears Lilly was missing Milo and Kit Kat more than she was in discomfort from the op!

We bought some cat mint for our herb planter, not realising it’s actually cat nip. Ours won’t leave it alone
