Bashir has now played less matches and taken less wickets for Somerset than he has done so for England and as you are aware, even played for Worcestershire this season. Stokes is in that same position, albeit for Durham.0 -
Duckett fails to hold onto a catch he's stretching for at mid-on off the bowling of Leach0
-
Carse looks very good, much to @Leuth ‘s dismay I’m sure.1
-
At what point would we take the new ball when due? Probably not today.0

Oh dear. Potts hears a noise as the ball passes the bat. Neither Smith nor Root do so and despite having 3 review in tact, we don't bother to do so and it is later proven that Rizwan did hit the ball.0

Kamran reaches 102* (192) and on his debut too. In doing so, he has scored more runs than Babar did in his previous 3 Tests and 6 innings for Pakistan

My word! We've just reviewed a decision for a ball that Rizwan didn't get within a foot of the bat.0
-
Jamie Smith needs his ears syringed4
-
England don't review a catch that hits the bat.
Then review a catch that misses the bat by a mile.
Can't even blame Pope either.0 -
Dare I suggest that Smith's inexperience as a keeper, especially with using DRS, has been a major reason for our recent awful record, rather than Pope.0
-
This outside leg stump line that both Bashir and Root are bowling is a recipe for serious injury to Pope at short leg, given how many of them have been rank long hops!0
-
We and Carse specifically takes the new ball immediately when it becomes due.0
-
Kamran gives up by charging Bashir for 118 (224) and is duly bowled. Reward for Bashir and his perseverance.
243-51 -
259-5 (90) at close. One would think that we are ahead but it remains to be seen how quickly we can bowl them out and how their numerous spinners bowl when it comes for them to do so.0
-
Great effort by Carse. I was sceptical about his selection, but he's justified his pick.
Bashir showing why Somerset have picked Leach ahead of him.0 -
Big England game in the Women's T20 World Cup about to start, effectively a QF with WI0

England get 11 off the next over and WI burn their second review, tide starting to turn in Englands favour0

Crawley was selected not just on his ability to score quickly but because you can't bowl the same ball to him as you might do his batting partner especially as that happens to be someone like Duckett who isn't just much smaller in stature and shorter in reach but also has the advantage of being left handed so there is a variance of line and length to the two of them.
The decision to give 6' 4'' Bashir the spot in India and then make him England's number one is because of his ability to make the ball bounce more on hard tracks especially in Australia. However, it is somewhat incredulous to think that two years ago he had been released by Surrey, was on the minor counties circuit and that he has now played more Tests than CC matches. For that reason, I'm really not sure that he will be England's number one come the Ashes simply because I question whether he will be ready and able to withstand the Aussie bats targetting him. He wouldn't get a gig in State cricket right now but, as I believe that he has never played on wickets out there, he could do worse, for short and long term experience, than to spend three or four months in Aus playing First Grade cricket. The standard is much better than county 2s and if it's good enough for the likes of Head, Labuscagne, Smith, Johnson, Carey etc etc to compete in then I'm sure it will be for Bashir and that he will learn a lot about where to bowl out there.

England 104-5 (but in reality 6 because Knight is injured) off 16.10

England end on 141-7 with NSB top scoring on 57*(50). That should be a defendable target0
-
The catching in the whole of this World Cup has been abysmal as one goes straight through the hands of Dunkley. A big miss at that given the Windies are 26-0 off just 2 overs.0
-
Some awful bowling so far as well0
