New manager same shit same formation same tactics same stupidity leaving 1 defender at back at our set pieces.
We’ve had about 6 different mangers and they’ve all done exactly the same 3 isolated forwards virtually none existent all game I think the penalty was only shot on target.
We might as well play with no forwards.
How long are we going to keep doing the same thing. Are the managers forced to play the same way.
Wont even comment on the match officials apart from saying they were completely and utterly hopeless. Can the club put in an official complaint about them?
What i will say is that Harry Isted impresses me less and less. Didn't even move today as their goal went in. Struggling to remember when he has ever saved a shot.

I came on to say that if (big IF) we can get Fraser & Camara back in the team by the start of October AND Chuks doesn't break down again then we start to have a semblance of a half decent team. Also playing some experienced players rather than kids with hardly any League experience might help us pull away from the bottom of the table.
Still think top 6 is a pipe dream but let's see where we are at xmas. If we in the top 10 then maybe we can look upwards rather than downwards....but as it stands this looks like another wasted season.
With so many subs, and a water break, (FFS) and all of the fouling, it's impossible for any team to get any momentum, spoiling the modern game, for me. Difficult watch, starting to look like the NFL.
Great to see Chucks back, amd the travelling support acknowledged that and JFK in a class way today.
Game of two half's, awful ref but a points a point and we can build on that.

I'm pleased that our fans acknowledged Chuks but I think it's time to move on from JFK as he was assassinated 60 years ago and we all know there was more than one gunman 🤔

It's not just the penalties, every time there's a challenge for the ball, there's a nudge or push in the back that might or might not get punished.
Chuks made the difference at the end, not only was he physical enough to compete with their defence he was making intelligent and dangerous lay offs, something that Leaburn struggled with. In a way he masked our problems, first half and most of the second it was men and against boys. A lot of our youngsters are just not physical enough to compete in this division, Campbell being the worst culprit especially as most of our attacking play went through him. Stevenage were well drilled, super fit and physical. Their attacking play was one touch into the channels and they got the ball into the area super quick. Our players are technically superior but took several touches before laying off meaning our attacks were slow and easy to defend against. We simply don’t play like a League One team and we’re not good enough to play around these physical teams. We need less youngsters and more experienced lower league players.
Agree we need fewer youngsters right now. Tyreece was a bit lightweight today, Anderson had a slightly off game and Abankwah had a bit of a mare - although Stevenage ruthlessly roughed him up, protected by a weak ref. Only his first match though, and he’ll improve.
Chem and Terry look like players. Thomas was quite classy when he came on. Genuinely two footed, which is quite rare in L1.
So good to see Aneke return. Get him playing regularly and we’ll be harder to bully. He creates chaos up front.
And as I mentioned before, I rated Appleton’s post match interview. He sounds like a proper football man, and his assessment of the performance was spot on. The fans were awesome today. Would have been there, had it not been for a family visit. Kudos to them. I think they made a real difference today.
And someone should sit the ref down and make him watch the game again. Not just the penalty mistakes, but the constant niggles, pushes and dives from Stevenage - masters of the dark arts. Would love to have snuck a winner in the 110th minute.
Diabolical game of footie. Shows the level of the league that they were top. They have some decent centre backs and they sliced us up a bit on our left hand side first half but other than that, bang ordinary side and we didn't test them at all first half.
Second half of course better but I didn't really see any sort of footballing style on display, Chuks just did Chuks things and caused them problems. Always impressed by Chuks raw power and physicality. I thought Sweeney, Piergianni & Thompson were schooling young Miles, in particular Thomson, Chuks comes on and all of a sudden they're playing completely different. Got to be worth having a look at Piergianni and Sweeney though as I thought they were class in the Carabao cup last season and thought they were very decent again today.
We will take the point considering the circumstances. Need a big home result now against an in-form Wycombe, 4 wins and 1 draw in their last 5 league outings..
Do you not think that Miles Leaburn needs a player, say Alfie May to play in a two up front ? The irony which shouldn't be lost on Charlton Critic's is Chuks Aneke is about the only player we have who can play as a lone central striker because of his strength but when will we see him again ? Chuks prefers to start on the bench so even if he doesn't have a reaction we will only get limited time out of Aneke.
I will ask again as somebody must know why did we use 6 subs ( another concussion?)and when did May get concussion?

Did the lino give a single decision all game? The handball I can understand the ref missing as he was so far away and I think his view was blocked - but lino must have been looking straight at that!

Overall we just looked a yard slow and unconfident in the first half, compared to Stevenage who know what they are about and get after it. Second half was much better and chuks changed it - thought all the subs did well to be fair!
Don’t think we should ever even try and start Chuks. Just leave him for 30 mins max off the bench. He hasn’t played in 7 months and he was brilliant for the spell he was on. Let’s use him as the asset he can be, and not try and push him beyond what he’s able.
Thought all the subs had a positive impact.

Always good for a gentle drift off these games , in and out of consciousness as another wank non league bit of defending leaves me wondering am I having a nightmare or are the last 15 years of mainly utter shit the reality , where a draw at Stevenage is worth a jostle . the league is junk , we have more chance than them of making top 6 we are carrying some of these youngsters and a bit more experience and nouse will see us rise through the pile of shit that is league one .
michael Appleton will bring us success , I’m convinced , law of averages and without doubt some of the worst footballing judges there are in our support .
my 15 year old, Petrolhead mad for us now the fucking crank , went to his first away game without me but was in the Stevenage end with a mate who is a spurs fan but goes to his local club Stevenage said at the end as the players went off and it was empty he got near the tunnel and he gave a Leeeeeaburn shout and Miles gave him a big smile and nod, so he was buzzing and wants to go to more away games, fuck off I hate people

Edun, Dobson, Jones and the keeper could have all done better
