Thing is the difference between the first 15 mins to the other 75 mins is so vast it’s unacceptable. I get league one is shit and players are inconsistent but the drop in performance during games is just weird.
I love how people say we will get destroyed by *insert team name here* if we play like that, when football rarely ever works that way - especially when it comes to Charlton.

Clare doesn't have the games he should have at his age under his belt as a right back.
Inniss has the number of games you would expect from someone 5 years younger.
Fraser has played in about 4 different roles this season, often two different ones in the same game.
CBT has been a striker, a right winger, a left winger, a wing back and doesn't really have the volume of games.
That's before you look at players like Morgan amd Payne who no one actually knows what their best role is.
Its a much less experianced squad than age alone suggests. The chopping and changing of managers doesn't help but I can't help thinking if we actually stuck with something we would actually improve. Probably not enough but you would at least know what you needed to improve. Other than 20 new players.
An away win is always good news and the three points we gained tonight are the most important thing to take away from the match.
However, having watched the match on Charlton TV, we were only on a par with the bottom side in the division overall and need to improve to make any impression on the 13 point gap we have towards 6th place. I fear that we will need the 12 point gap we have above 21st place so am still looking down a bit even though we stand at 11th in the table.
I’ve stopped watching/going since just before Xmas for family reasons, but have caught the Bolton game and now this one on TV.
Bolton looked decent and deserved the win, and I see they are on a great run.
For me, I chose to watch tonight as I could fit it in, but I thought it was dire viewing. Even the first 20 or however minutes we had more of the ball was still pretty taxing on the eye.
There’s no doubt we got rid of a lot of the dross in Jan, and none of the players we lost will be missed, but what’s left hardly inspires. I think the ongoing uncertainty over the club’s ownership and how much of a mess we’ve been behind the scenes for a few years now, definitely plays a part in the general decline of what is served up on the pitch. I understand we don’t know who will be here next season, as owner, players or manager, but tonight was a great example to highlight that of the few that remain, they’re very much forgettable footballers.
Blackett Taylor is a good example. Tonight we played a very poor team and he still couldn’t give us any sort of end product/consistency. He took his goal well, got in the box as Curbs said post match, but if he can’t rip this lot a number in the way Rak Sami did, it doesn’t bode well for a man equipped with the skill to be part of a promotion charge.
Fraser is another good example. Constantly dragging the ball back and pirouetting in the middle of the pitch, looking for some killer ball. Another player who has some talent/skill, but his career is going nowhere. They’re not bad players, but they’re not very good in the grand scheme of kicking us on out of this league.
As Brown said post match if you were a neutral and you caught the second half, you wouldn’t have been able to tell who was second from bottom and not won in 10 games or whatever it was. We’re not as bad as FGR, but we’re closer to them in terms quality than we are the teams at the top.
I know there’s a lot of players out of contract in the summer, so if we do have some sort of direction by then off the pitch, then it’s likely to be a few new faces, but of the ones that are under contract, there’s nothing to get excited about bar Leaburn.
I can understand why fans have slipped away over the years. This is the first time I’m not going to home games in 35 years. I will be back once my lad is a bit older, it’s in my blood. However, I can see why we’ve lost fans. Tonight I turned the game on and was bored after about 20 mins. The whole thing had the appeal of having an Eastenders episode on in the background. You’re sort of able to zone in on the inane storylines without paying any attention and it’s just background noise whilst you’re busy on your phone or your mind is elsewhere.
I feel sorry for the young fans coming through. I was fortunate enough to start following in the late 80s, around 6. The teams I grew up watching always had a North Star of some sort. Be it Lennie Lawrence trying to keep us up and the club get back to the valley, then onto Curbs and our golden years with 2 promotions and stability in the Prem. There was progress. There were decent players and pride. None of these players are names you’ll want to remember or look back with any sort of pride in years to come.
Finally, bless killers beard and in the end just referring to FGR as Fleetwood. I see Greg Stubley said it’s probably because the game reminded him of Fleetwood on Sat. Personally I think they all probably just mould into one long mediocre monologue

I would say 20 minutes we were very good because FGR didn't press and it was a stroll for Cafc. The top six clubs in League 1 aren't shit and Bolton who should've scored 5 against Cafc, scored 5 for the 2nd game running. Could well catch either Wednesday or Plymouth if their players stay fit.

Might be a bit late, but if you had walked from Stroud to Nailsworth along the cycle path route it's pretty much flat the whole way. Hope this helps with the contemplating.
Fitness is a big thing for me. We had players out there who looked utterly shattered after 60 mins. That is in a game where we had the majority of the ball. I could accept it if we were chasing shadows for 90 mins but we weren't.
If Leaburn doesn;t play then the one up front just doesn't work Bonne was totally isolated and ineffective on Saturday and Anke the same tonight.
5 in wins in 7 and I am bored shitless watching us. Lost interest about 20 mins in and I just don't see it changing any time soon.
The comment from Holden regarding talking to Curbishley is interesting and might explain the utter garbage served up on Saturday. Clearly the break down of the take over has had a negative impact on Holden and perhaps the players picked up on that and performed accordingly.
The off field stuff needs sorting asap or we are going to tread water in mid table at best.

JRS and CBT are confidence players. First 20 running riot they should screaming for the ball next, and if the opposition change it then it should create space for Fraser and Aneke. But it never does. We should not be that easy to nullify no matter what the other team does. FGR manager isn’t Mourinho. There is a fundamental problem with our players adapting to changes in the game. It’s not good enough. Far too many players let their performance go from good to dog shit so easily and so often.
