A fully fit jofra and we'd have walked this series imo.
Or even one of Stone, Mahmood, Overton fit and available for the first 2 tests.

Speaking of Stone - he's just picked up another injury after making one appearance in the blast and he will now miss the 100. Annoyingly Surrey's Dan Worrall has been called up to replace him. Annoyingly because Dan isnt much of a T20 bowler and was going to be a big part of our 50 over attack.

we really need to work out why our fast bowlers keep breaking down, and the likes of australian fast bowlers, who's domestic pitches are harder and arguably more unforgiving on the body than in england, seem to keep going.

Stokes says he would’ve also chose to bowl due to conditions (and the team liking a 4th innings target to chase no doubt)

Score 550, bowl them out twice after forcing them to follow on.

A fully fit Mark Wood and we would have won it.
Both fully fit and we would’ve won 6-0?
Bloody hell - we'd have made it double figures if Foakes had played

We’re all forgetting about Stokes being fit enough to bowl. Make it 12-0 across this series and the next.

Well said Athers "This game is not a dead rubber. There is a world of difference between drawing 2-2 and losing 3-1"

Murphy in for Green in the only change from the two sides
I was one of those bigging Green up before the series, and he's been very poor.

Good carry and bounce judging from those first couple of balls. As one would expect at The Oval

They've relied heavily on Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc, but losing Nathan Lyon was a big blow. He'd nail down one end, take a few  wickets and allow the other seam bowlers to be rotated at the other end. Once he'd gone the lack of depth in the Aussie attack got exposed.

hands like buckets though, and there's no doubt he'll be a big player for australia in the future.

Surrey have provided Amar Virdi to England as one of the 12th men for this test. Whilst he has become incredibly experienced at carrying drinks I do hope we dont end up with him sub fielding. Could be costly. The fringes of Surrey's squad is full of exceptional fielders. Odd decision to put up someone who is famously terrible at it.

Another drop, third slip would have had that.

Four seamers used this morning, if he'd have been playing Nathan Lyon would be coming on around now. Does Cummins trust Todd Murphy?
