Very dark at the Oval. Wouldn't surprise me if they go off soon. Bad light or rain.

Moeen has 6 wickets at 64.50 in the series. Murphy has 2 wickets at 27.00
    Root has taken 4 @ 28...
So it's Murphy, then Root and Moeen a long, long way behind the pair of them
A sample size of 2, 4 or even 6 isn't really conclusive is it?  I am not really sure what point your trying to make?

Would you rather Ali can't bowl?
The point I'm making is that many have written Murphy off but Moeen is our front line spinner and has only taken 6-387 in the Series and isn't even doing a holding job either. That isn't a small sample and the idea of him batting at 3 is to balance the side. He has batted very well but he hasn't fulfilled his other role.

We need it to get even darker because these conditions are helping the Aussie seamers

Whom has written Murphy off?  Other than Australia leaving him out for the last test.

I'm not going to go back and look for the comments but the point was consistently made that it showed no confidence from the Aussies in leaving him out of the last Test. That it would make him even more nervous when he returned.

He has for sure. But at 64.50 a time. That means that if he got all 10 out, the Aussies would score, on average, 645. Murphy's two wickets were the same person both times - Stokes - and he is, as demonstrated in this Series, as dangerous a batsman as there is.

Apologies - correct. Stokes was his first wicket. Moeen was batting well though and taking the pressure off Brook. Getting him out then brought Stokes in.

Should get a 100 in the last 10 overs with wickets in hand, this is a ODI isn't it?

Might as well smack it and try to get 250 now and fingers crossed have them 4 or 5 down before the close. Unless the rain comes and ruins that..

I hope the Aussies win as it might prove that our approach to test cricket, while entertaining, is not suitable win a 5 day test match
