    At the end of day the teams that win tourneys can overcome dodgy ref decisions, we never can. We come up against teams that are better and can finish their chances, simple as.

    Someone needs to buy Southgate a stop watch that starts 10 minutes early each half. Might make the subs a bit more timely.

    I think he played it about right. Couldn't help the fact we have defenders that switch off twice in 2 minutes. 

    Subs were tough because you were always going to bring off a player that was playing well. I would have preferred different players to Sterling and Mount but they're trusted squad members.

    Haa a tinge of 90 and 96. Decent tournament played two decent sides in Senegal and France, the group was so easy. I mean we played poorly against the USA. but Iran and Wales were abysmal.

    Fine margins and honestly some bad luck. Don't think Southgate or the players did much wrong. Could very easily have gone differently .

    France was a little bit better tonight, imho. England, at least from where I sit, seemed better four years ago.

    Better team on the whole. 

    Poor refereeing decisions changed the game a bit but was always going to be close. 

    Defenders having the tendency to switch off marking undone us in the end. An in-form Maguire may have changed things.
