Not a penalty. Qatari player saw the defender coming and slowed his run, bought the contact.
He put his body in front of the ball (as a defender would do when ushering the ball out) and the defender clattered him. That’s a pen.
Nah can’t be having that. He could’ve shot and he tried to buy a penalty instead by deliberately initiating the contact against a defender that couldn’t stop their momentum. If anything, it’s a free kick for Senegal.
No different to the Ronaldo pen yesterday. No consistency in decisions at all.
Qatar have started kicking the opposition, about 20 mins later than they started kicked the opposition when they played Ecuador so I guess that’s progress.
All the RTÉ comms in the studio & at the game arguing wether it was a pen or not. Currently 3 - 2 in favour that it should have been. I’m just surprised that VAR didn’t ask the ref to look at it at least tbh.

I posted earlier, since the supposed VAR fiasco in the Argentina defeat, I am sure the officials will not give decisions unless a defender shoots an opponent .. at least twice !!

You can’t not post the tweet that’s in reply to!
The actors wont feel useless now
On this basis, I'm more worried about Ecuador than Senegal
