  • I would have preferred if the company working flat out there for over 6 months had got a mention - maybe for another day

Isn’t that their job though? That they are getting paid for?

    And yes, I’m being facetious.
  • The ‘other site’ saying that the unnamed in eagle/loaner (or at least some finance has come from) is actually Roland Duchatelet

A guess, other places on social media claim it’s from University of Greenwich.
  • Just been sent some photos of parts of the training ground which contravene the “Green Guide” which are rules laid down for sports stadiums and grounds etc.
Those responsible reported said infringements to 🍔 who as usual disregarded the advice in the usual style, it was then brought to the attention of she who must be obeyed and ignored again.
It seems Cat one would never happen if we can’t get the basics right. 👍
  • The Green Guide has no legal force. Sports grounds are licensed by the local authority but the training ground doesn’t require a licence.

it would be covered by healthy and safety regs.
  • Not disputing the legality of it, but they are guidelines and failure to adhere surely leaves you open to problems should an incident occur.
  • Interesting update

  • Think Dr Will has been an extremely important signing.
Agreed, he's having a much wider impact than I had expected.
  • Didnt Tommy supposedly do all this 12 months ago when we went for cat1 and failed ?

Great work all round, gaff looks great 👍

Russell Slade did 90% of the work with the new table cloths. This lot have come in, finished the job and taken all the credit.
& taken all the condiments, so to speak.
  • can't imagine any of that came cheap (all new gym equipment etc) but how does it all fit in with Roland still owning the Valley and SL

well played the owners though, both the ground and training ground looking superb
  • Well that's all very impressive but have we been able to replace Martin Sandgaard in the player recruitment role ?

Sounds like the heaviness/dryness of the pitches could have played a role in our ongoing injury issues.

Delighted we've got Will Abbott at the club, he seems to really know his stuff.
  • I've gotta say, hats off to the owners and club, it's looking very good. Love the Red and Grey together, very strong and impactful.

My only quibble is from an aesthetic point of view, hate the chairs in the restaurant, look really old fashioned and dated. Think they must of been found in a skip or a village hall somewhere;)

I did wonder if they knicked the chairs from fans bar

There was more than a hint of that in the quotes. I remember much chat on here that our injuries were of a normal nature and number 'because we don't follow other clubs as closely'. I think that can been put to bed now.
  • Has anyone seen Ron Dangerfield & @ Grapevine49 in the same room ?  B)

I wonder if they will ever let him out of the broom cupboard? He must have finished painting it by now.
  • No one else think it was funny that our head groundsman is called Alan Green.

Lots of work also going on in the lounges at the Valley, new electrical fittings, Charlton TV lounge now the Vice Presidents' Lounge, seats in stands been cleaned, steps repainted, shop re-fitted, Valley Central re-furbed, new pitch, new parking signs!

None of those ever scored a goal but getting the off the pitch stuff rights helps the on the field stuff.
Are they planning on picking up fans from their homes and driving them to the matches and returning them home, free of charge?

Surely, it’s the least they can do;)
