What I don't understand is why (in your case) Pope and Foakes NEED resting. They're not playing again for 2 monthscantersaddick said:

Interesting that in an interview Pope said he specifically went to the England setup and requested to play for Surrey when the plan was originally for him to have a rest. Not sure if Crawley did the same.

I don't think Crawley has to do anything to cement his place. So Billings has confirmed that he will be going to the Big Bash followed by the UAE comp but not to the IPL so will be available from the start of next season and wants to get back in the England Test side hence Robinson's departure.0

As I thought. His only chance of an England spot is in the Test side now, so we will see him in red ball much more often next season. Especially as unlike with the white ball England squads, he won't be away carrying the drinks.
