"We pay your benefits. We pay your benefits. We pay your benefits. We pay your benefits. It's crucial that the levelling up programme spreads the wealth across the whole of the United Kingdom, so that in the future the north of England shall have the same prosperity as the south. Until that happens, we are happy to pay our taxes to compensate for the inequalities of society."0

Looks like Haaland to City is a done deal. Apparently completed his medical yesterday.1

Deservedly voted both fans player and players player of the season at Brighton’s end of year awards.stackitsteve said:Big fan of Cucurella, remember watching him play for Getafe and he was one of those that always seemed to stand out down that left hand side.
he’s been one of the best players outside the top 6 or 7 clubs this season.
playing a different role the last month or so as he’s been on the left of a back 3 but pleased to see him finally get a goal today.0 -
He has been excellent for the last 2 seasons. Would be an ideal fit for LWB at Spurs under Conte but would take a lot of money.stackitsteve said:

There's been a new twist on the THST statement this morning, as someone has uncovered a historical tweet from the co-chair of THST...
Resignation incoming you would have thought lol
(and when I say historical, I mean during the same that the statement was referring to!)3 -
Oh dear god... What are we coming to with some of the reactions to these chants0

So when we are beating a club and their fans are leaving early we can no longer wave them goodbye?1

Think City with Haaland up front will be a scary proposition.
Would love to see a front 3 of Foden, Haaland and Grealish / Sterling.3 -

I believe the clause in his contract states it must be paid up in one hit as well - not that would be a problem for City.ForeverAddickted said:

I wouldn't be surprised to see Sterling move this summer.DamoNorthStand said:Think City with Haaland up front will be a scary proposition.

He's got a year left on his contract so they need to renew or sell.
That said, Gabriel Jesus has been linked with Arsenal, and Mahrez is getting on a bit for a winger so maybe they'll want to renew Sterling's contract.0 -
On the face of it, its a massive bargain 55million. They were after Kane last year for 100 and got told they wanted more.
Haaland also plays in a 433, so to get the most of him City wont have to adapt too much just put in more crosses and actually have a proper striker at the club. This is obviously going to be bad for everyone else, although he does still need to adjust. Some front free foden/Haaland/Sterling, back ups Mahrez/Grealish . as we know the forward players all slot into every slot so even with Jesus likely to go, surprised it took so long to get an out and out striker so will be interesting how he slots in.1 -
But can he do it on a rainy night in November in .......0

His Dad as a Right-Back | Midfielder got three goals for Man City in 35-games
Be amusing if Erling couldnt do it quicker.1 -

Gerrard to cause Liverpool to slip further back tonight? Dippers have rested a few for the FA cup final it seems.0

Don't like 1st & 2nd phases when it comes to offside. Watkins was offside in the 1st "phase" so play should have stopped, not let to go on & then forgotten about once a 2nd "phase" occurs1

Officiating has been shocking this half.0

Moss has already retired on this showing.

Just about keeps the title race alive, but City have to lose a game by a couple probably. Would be interesting if both are on level points before last game and one teams does a Brizzle Rovers.0
-
City have some serious defensive issues. Stones, Walker and Dias are all out for the rest of the season and Ake apparently is also a doubt for Wolves tonight. If they're going to drop points though, then west ham away at the weekend is the most likely place i think, especially as they can still get 6th ahead of Man utd.LawrieAbrahams said:Just about keeps the title race alive, but City have to lose a game by a couple probably. BBC are saying it's even less than that. "City activated a 60m euro (£51.2m) release clause in his contract."ForeverAddickted said:

51.2m in todays market is ridiculous, although i suspect there are a ton of extra fees to agents and hangers on we won't hear about.2 -
Without Thursday night European matches, West Ham should be a bit fresher and more "up for it" than in recent weeksChris_from_Sidcup said:

How Tottenham can be demanding 100 million for Kane when Haaland is going for half that...0
-
To be fair I presume Dortmund only managed to get Haaland in the first place because of the low Release Clause.Chunes said:How Tottenham can be demanding 100 million for Kane when Haaland is going for half that...
I mean just look at how much PSG had to pay for Mbappe0 -

Ex Everton and man united manager David Moyes...helps Liverpool win the title0 -
Indeed, that's the one offputting thing about Haaland, the power of his agent and management team. In 2 years time, will they stir things up again, and demand their dream move to Charlton?ForeverAddickted said:
