I don’t want him to go just yet as I’d like to actually be able to support our youngsters but IF he leaves today I don’t want him back for the rest of the season I want him replaced
How are we going to find a similar goalpoacher at short notice on the last evening of the window?
If this had happened 2 weeks ago, then we could have chosen to find a replacement
If they haven’t got anyone lined up for the likely hood of mason leaving then we shouldn’t be entertaining bids
Wasn't one of the positives that we would be able to hold onto prospects and demand a better fee?
This just calls back to the Roland days of shipping a youth player out the moment a bid comes in.
We've not even had a fee suggested and people are comparing Sandgaard to Roland!
The deadline day sale of a top prospect does seem to ring a bell from Roland yes.
We had six January windows under Roland. The first window was a disaster after selling Stephens to Brighton and Yann to Bournemouth.
The following four windows had no major outgoings.
The last window we sold Karlan Grant to Premier League Huddersfield before he ran out his contract. We got a 2m fee up front and substantial add on clauses.
You're acting like we lost a key player every single Jnauary deadline day. It's simply not true.

The only suggestion is that the fee is "substantial" so let's wait and see.
If it's substantial then we should be lining up a pricy replacement no?
Who knows?
The bid has obviously only come in today. I wouldn't get your hopes of a replacement up yet, maybe in the summer though. Or work a loan deal back off that club for a slightly more established player for now?
IF he does go then we are short up top even if the big lad is back fit soon. Tonight's squad has very little option on the bench if we need a goal, but then again the starting 11 lacks goals.
So I understand if we an outlier here, are there any other league one clubs in recent years who have sold/not sold a talented young player (especially a striker scoring goals) to a premiership club when they came knocking?
A massive shame but it’s the first time we’ve been able to sell a youngster on our terms, not theirs.
Would I rather he stayed… of course. But this is a nothing season now and IF we can start planning for next year with a healthy balance and get deals in place quickly to really push on next season then losing him is a short term price to pay.
A big IF though and one that Sandgaard will rightly be judged on.

People seem to forget our current striker shortage.
then (whoever) can have him
Biggest fees paid for League One players...

Probably the worst move you can make as a young footballer though.
So at the Fleetwood game he was saying goodbye
If it's not multiple millions it isn't 'substantial'.
