Wednesday have signed the goalkeeper Peacock-Farrell from Burnley.
On loan. Good player
Is he though? I seem to remember him being littered with mistakes when he was at Leeds. Don’t think their fans were too sad to see him go and he’s not played for Burnley.
At this level he is a very good goalkeeper. Though interestingly, it wasn’t a position i thought Wednesday needed filling. I am struggling to work out how they’ve solved their issues of not being able to pay their players.
Reduced wage bill.
The owner had the money however the Thai government restricted the movement of monies out of the country, apparently this has been relaxed.
Those 2 Wednesday signings today are class for League 1
BPF is far to good to be a league 1 keeper and Lewis Wing is a championship player
I suspect he wants to play. I remember when Declan Rudd and Jed Steer joined us in L1 thinking that they were better than this level. BPF gets his PL salary and plays first team football. He won't play at Burnley behind Pope and Hennesey.
Goalkeeper is an interesting position in the modern day game. For example Elliot, Hamer and Henderson were first choices at Charlton but have largely had careers as reserves at other clubs.

Elliot and Hamer have chosen that path. If they had wanted to play regularly, they could have stayed in the Championship or L1, but have chosen to be a well paid 3rd/4th keeper instead
I think Vokes has the potential to be a handful but think Stockley is better. His career seems right on the decline, had a couple of good goalscoring seasons but they were a long time ago now!
Vokes is another case of is he better than what we currently have after Stockley, almost certainly for that role. Is he better than what we will have in the 1st of September 🤷♂️
Looking at his history, he's already had half year loans at Bristol Rovers and Plymouth, followed by a half year loan at Raith Rovers (Scottish Championship), without playing many games or scoring
Now L2 Newport, it's never a good sign when your loan sides are getting progressively lower in the pyramid...
Bobby Duncan is avalible on a free. Strange that Derby haven't got any players and are giving the ones they do have away.
Such a weird career , was massively hyped at Liverpool then had that contract saga with his agent (who was also hanging around us with Southall) claiming all kinds of things. Then did nothing at Fiorentina.

he came to the Valley with Stoke a couple of seasons back, came on as a late sub and did zero .. I think he is finished as a 'dangerous striker' .. still who knows, Wycombe's up and at em style might suit his agéd legs

All old wages paid so good to go.

Has played 78 league games for Stoke in last 3 seasons, scored 8 goals. Of course that’s Championship, but still think his best days are gone.
Thought he looked decent for Fulham last year. Hopefully a one off

Us - relegated after he left
Swansea - lost in playoffs
West Brom - relegated
hope they go bust and can't afford to pay him
