Personally i feel the player needs to be proven over a period of time to justify the amounts i have read about do you feel they are proven at this level or above for a club like ours looking at promotion and guarentee success for that figure...???Cafc43v3r said:

some are crazy amounts in the current climate with covid having ruined alot of clubs i get there trying there luck as a selling club but doubt they will ever get what they really want and i suspect some will lose for free or small sums when contracts run down they need to be realistic0 -

£1 million pounds plus wages of 500k - 750k over two year contract is an awful lot for a league one club to stump up. I just can’t see it’s viable. If Crewe are genuinely wanting £1million then it’s only championship clubs in the running. Personally I think they’d take £500k once the interest wains.2

I think the gap between the top league 1 teams and championship teams has shrunk this year. As previously stated lots of clubs are on the brink of bankruptcy. No player bought for more than 2million in the championship is very low and majority are frees.
